So far - nothing (also asked for slalom as well as a few other bits and bobs). Technically they could still allocate them (up until the 10th) which really just means another 10 days without being able to touch a large chunk of my hard earned money :-(

I'm really annoyed about the process for this. I applied for quite a few things and 2 weeks before money being taken my bank called and told me my card had been cancelled due to "high risk of fraud". They'd send me a new one. Fine, new one arrived 2 days later.

But after now trying 4 (5? 6?) times over the past 3 weeks to get a hold of the 2012 ticket people on the official channel to change my card details (which you of course can't do online) with no answer whatsoever I'll probably miss out on it all.

Sorry, short answer there is "no".

Chrace, there was a discussion about your very case on the Today Programme, radio 4 this morning. I'm sure the man said you can phone the help line and get it sorted, the help line is supposed to have been moved to a prominent position on the ticket booking page.

I posted this on the competition forum a little while ago.
I spotted this on a BBC news item
A reporter for the Sunday Times bought a pair of tickets for the athletics finals on 9 August from another source - German agent Dertour.

The BBC's sports news correspondent James Pearce says it is still possible to buy tickets to boxing finals, canoe slalom finals, the women's basketball final and other high profile events through Dertour, which is continuing to sell tickets on a first come first served basis.

I have been advised that our Visa will be debited for £41. Not told what for, but from the prices of what we asked for it looks like 1 Canoe sprint ticket, no slalom, athletics, archery or opening ceremony (I admit the latter was just a long shot). In the office where my husband works most people got nothing at all despite asking for many 100s of tickets between them.

I know I've been charged £110; could be 2 tickets for equestrian event cross-country I suspect.
Hoped also for 2 tickets for 2 days slalom finals, and 2 days cycling in velodrome :-(
Who on earth IS getting all these tickets?

According to the BBC website, today was when people who ordered for just one event found out if they were successful.
BBC wrote:Those who successfully applied for multiple events will be told by 24 June which tickets they have been allocated.
So you might have been successful after all!

I've been billed for some tickets, the only combination that works on the total cost is the C2/ladies K1 slalom final and one of either two gymnastic days or a Canoe sprint day i applied for as these were all the same cost.

1/2 the stadium will be filled with media/ sponsors. The stadium for one of the events, could have sold out 20X over!

We're also not sure what it is but from the price it seems likely to sprint kayak semi finals for four of us.

So tell me, when is this stuff all happening? So that I can arrange to be somewhere else. It worked well with the wedding thing.

Olympic games 27 July-12 Aug 2012
Paralympic games 29 Aug - 9 Sept 2012

A lot of holiday time required if you are going to escape all of it. Consider canoe camping in the Great Lakes or sea kayaking round Ireland to while away the hours.

You also might want to avoid the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 4th/5th June (extra Bank Holiday!)

Did better than expected,I only applied for the slalom, I applied for 2 tickets for all 5 days
it looks like I've got at least 3 of the 5, as they've taken a good chunk from my account.

Was not expecting that.

Either the K1 women & C2 final or some tracking cycling.
Will have to wait till later this month to find out which one.

I applied for 4 tickets for almost every day of slalom and various other events / ceremonies. I got nothing. Relieved I didn't end up with the lot (ouch ££) but bit gutted I didn't even get one!! Guess I'll have to try and sort my Plan B for being there (and no, that's not trying to get in as a competitor!!).

Should we really be supporting the international anabolic steroids users convention especially in the light of the way they discriminate against asthmatics. The Olympics are such a turn off for participatory sport its time to give them a well deserved cold shoulder.

Wheelchair users can get a free ticket for their pusher. Blind people do not get a free ticket for their minder. I'm sure there are many other discriminations. Indeed, for everyone who gets a 'consession' the others are paying extra and are therefore discriminated against (just for being 'normal').

Maybe I'm a bit sensitive after the Panorama documentary this week and possibly this was meant tongue in cheek (can't quite make my mind up after re reading the whole post) but this snippet comes across as crass and ignorant. Maybe get yourself down to a Mencap play scheme and volunteer some time with some kids who dont happen to be 'normal' and educate yourself.
