The Oban sea kayak race is possibly the largest sea kayak race in the country (UK at the moment but could change soon!!) http://www.obanseakayakrace.org/ - I have been chatting to the organisers and they are willing to establish a sailing class for kayaks fitted with sails such as the Flat Earth type.
This would open up the race to people who possibly would not consider it otherwise - certainly this years race would have been very good sailing for 50% of the course, wind assisted for 40% and only 10% into wind. To make it a viable class there needs to be at least 5 kayaks with sails so is there any interest out there - I know Karitek have sold quite a few sails but they are a rare sight out and about so here is a chance to use them to the full potential.
Marathon, Freestyle, Polo, Slalom, Sprint, WWR, etc.
