Canoe touring in North Sweden

Post by benjamin »

Hi all
Does anyone have experience of multiday touring in North Sweden? I'm potentially running a trip there next August but only if we can track down some expert advice first.
Thanks in anticipation, Ben.

Speak to Rob Yates, he used to run trips to Sweden before emigrating

Hi Ben, a few years ago 4 of us flew to Kiruna, hired 2 canoes and did a 14 day trip on the Torne Trask. It is pretty remote but there was a town 5 days in to re-stock on food. Not sure how several multi day trips would work as don't know the area. If you were interested I could dig out the canoe hire contact? We flew rather than drove with boats but is the ferry running again from the East Coast?

Contact Toni Franz and Emma Lundgren at Paddlelapland https://www.facebook.com/Paddlelapland-172711712907877/

They can give you advice on numerous trips - they can also organise logistics, hire boats, organise helicopter access and provide a guide.

I've spent quite a bit of time there so happy to help as well if you have any specific questions.

Great recommendations, many thanks. I will continue to do a bit more research.
