Customizing foam for C1 conversion

Post by RockRiver »

Looking to convert my Burn to C1 and properly fit out my wife's Aftershock. Can anyone recommend a source of customizing foam?

Most of the guys use Ramfoam for buying big slabs of foam, but postage can be difficult/expensive if you can't pick it up.
Or you can try asking paddling shops, I know for example that Des Mes don't list full sheets of foam on the website, but usually have some, and others advertise tiny blocks for kayak outfitting but say contact us if you need more....

I would suggest you check out c-boating uk facebook group (someone there will know the right foam spec), and/or look up Black Snow Saddles on facebook - Phil is making OC1 saddle kits that can be posted reasonably inexpensively to glue together at home, they are pretty universal and can be adjusted to fit anything from a Big Dog Force to a Vertige X (so far) so should work well in the aftershock. He might also be able to sort you out some foam for the C1 conversion if you can draw out the shape you want.
