Re: TAWE HASSLE.

Im glad that yes you do contribute to the local economy, but no more than any local person is doing by going for a walk in Craig Y Nos and then going for a few pints in the pub later! Exactly - no more, and no less. There is *no* difference between people visiting the area to walk, to cycle, or to ...

Re: Dry suit from China

Just for info, the 30 second thing is because copyright law allows for quoting small portions of a work for review purposes. So for example you can quote a few paragraphs of a book in the context of a review - even a published review written for profit - without having to pay royalties to the copyri...

Nice one.

In a very similar vein, here's a logo I came up with a few years ago now. I planned to have it printed on some XXXL T-shirts but never quite got round to it.

Except that Groggle is just a bad pun on Google. Yes it wouldn't have been thought of without Google's existence but was it really hoping to cash in? Hmm.. Giles I would say almost certainly yes, but I also suspect they saw it as cheeky rather than a legal issue until it was "explained" to them by ...

Re: Big flood pictures

The floods around Landeck in August 2005 were pretty spectacular. A quick Google search for "Austria flood 2005" or "Landeck flood 2005" finds loads of pictures.

Just because it's legally allowed for them to have purchased a domain doesn't mean it's right. Valid owners of a brand ... Not taking sides here (if I did it's fairly obvious which side I would be on) but it goes a long way beyond the anarchic way domain names are controlled, or rather fail to be c...

Re: Somewhat cheeky

Max Clifford eat your heart out... Surely they knew they could never get away with such a similar name, and this has all been one big publicity stunt to get people talking about it. Seems to have worked, very clever. Maybe, but the other option would have been a post to tell everyone about it. That...

We've had two Fujis in the family. Both have taken excellent quality pics and they've been 100% reliable. As a brand I would certainly recommend them.

Re: Best glue for Neoprene Neck seal tape ?

The problem with Aquasure is that it sets into a flexible but hard lump - great for plugging holes in a spray deck but I wouldn't want it on a neck seal.

Black Witch is the stuff to use.

Re: Dead Leg- Does any one else get this problem?

All you can really say is it is probably caused by an ill-fitting boat - exactly where is harder to say. I solved the problem in one boat with padding under my ischial tuberosities (it's not every day you get to say that) which raised me up by a few millimetres and stopped the front edge of the seat...

I don't think there can be any connection. The problem was with the server not the DNS, and it's a dedicated server so the problem shouldn't have affected anyone else.

Yep, we know, the server has been down since the early hours of Friday morning until a few minutes ago.

It's back now, hopefully with no further problems.

Re: DSLR Advice (Is this any good?)

The 500D is a bit better than the 450D, but one of the most important differences is that the 18-55 IS kit lens that comes with it is MUCH better than the old 18-55 (non-IS) that comes with the 450D. So you did good ;-) The 75-300 you mention in your first post is rubbish. But you say you bought the...

Re: Angry Fisherman at Wnion get-on

The police officier was new to the area so didn't know the score so asked us to find something else to paddle, and we didn't want to waste any more of his time, and wanted to be seen as cooperative. The mistake you made was waiting for the police to arrive. I don't remember the exact law which this...

Re: Sorry, another grading question: can I have two "pluses"?

Fortunately we don't have any lochs in the south west... Actually we do, and at least one of them is used by paddlers - Wimbleball. Ok it needs a rather big concrete wall to keep the water in but in every other respect it's a loch. I remember running a 'taster' session there a few years ago. Close ...

You should also consider that much worse things could be happening to you, and it seems as if you are determined to be pissed of by insignificant things. I'm guessing...

Nor indeed dog owners - but the general point here, and squarely on topic for this forum, is the way one group of people is inconsidera...
