Re: Severn Bore - What Boat

The bigger issue will be where to park your car safely. The whole area is now on severe flood alert and the roads will flood very quickly after the bores this weekend. The January bores had the police turning people away and these are bigger and the river still high with strong winds forecast.

French Alps apartments

Can anyone recommend any accommodation around Briancon? We're ideally looking for some apartments where it's possible to speak to the owner directly not just book through a computerised booking system. Currently trying to avoid a large chalet.

Re: AFON TARELL (Usk tributary)

We paddled this today at a low level and there were a lot of trees down. We did take out a few but we didn't have the time or equipment to tackle them all. At low levels all but one could be dodged. I wouldn't want to be among them at a high level.

I flew out to Austria this year with Inghams, though my boat still went by road (Advantage of having a small baby). They were only £20 more expensive than Easy jet to fly into Innsbruck but far more choices of UK airports. My flight used fly be as the airline and it looks like from there luggage pol...

Canyon gear will make made to measure boat bags. Ours weren't padded as we had them made for plastic play boats, but if they don't make them padded just get a bigger bag and use some carry mat.

Re: Brittany. What boat?

Take a boat you can use in the surf and then head to La Torche. Body boarding fun for the rest of the family excellent surf for you. You only want to be surfing on an incoming tide though as the currents on an outgoing tide are horrible.

For a club welfare officer to be able to sign off crb forms they had to have attended the time to listen course. How far into pregnancy have people been paddling white water until? Last week I was 20 weeks and still paddling selected grade 4 rivers in Austria but was starting to feel more wobbly and nerves that wouldn't have normally been there were there. Video shows there is no sign of a wobbly boat and i'd ...

The other thing to watch out with your EHIC card is not all countries in Europe use it i.e. Switzerland. Passports I'd always recommend you have have 6 months left on your passport before travelling. It's incase you got detained in the country for some reason and then your passports expired. Why mig...

Re: Your EHIC card expires… did you know that?

It shouldn't cost you anything to renew it! There's lots of websites out there that look offical that charge you for the renewal. If it says there's a cost you're on the wrong website and they are simply applying on your behalf. www.ehic.org.uk If you do discover you're card has just expired before ...

We've been staying at camping Riffler in Landeck. It's a small and quiet campsite walking distance of the town centre and opposite a supermark...

I'd say you've been unlucky. I've been paddling the wye for over 20 years and never been ill from it and I've not known of any other people being ill from it. Some times we've spent quite long periods in the water having rubber ring races down the rapids and doing white water safety training.
