Thev've been trying to close down SUCC for a number of years now. Back in 2000 they lost Howard Jeffs who was the saftey officer for the university and a high level kayak coach (I can't remember if he was sacked or pushed in the end). Really you need some of the old committee members to get in touch...

River boats

Hi,
I recently started paddling a LL Lil Joe (I'm 5'4" and about 10 1/2 stone), it's a really good boat and probably worth having a look at, it feels very edgy at first but calms down when it's on white water! :D

Helmets

I just switched to a Superscrappy, finding it a good, firm fit, with the HOG system - though what I had before was a shocking fit. Its pretty firm even without doing the buckle up. Haven't tested it upside down yet. But it was pretty comfortable after a couple of days paddling.

hospital chap

He's fine a bit of a swollen eye and bumped head, but for going upside down through Barrasford rapid I guess thats what you get. They found the hospital aswell - with no queue! Ali
