Re: Fecal matters

PodSac do a twin seal bag which works for "most items" is handsomely coloured in warning red and replete with "Biohazard" appliqué. Packs light and small when empty. The plastic sort of Domestic biodegradable food waste bags might be suitable Interliners. The Large size is still quite small.

Re: Club insurance

Rang the Protectivity firm from Mike's link above. Sounds very kosher. They can quote for club or groups of clubs (Associations) - download proposal form from site to get a quote. The chap did warn that Perkins Slade would have negotiated a very good discount for a huge blanket policy such as BCU ha...

Thanks Mike. That's interesting and useful. I'll check the policies' small print.
A certificate proving current TP cover is important here as Harbour does check regularly.

Re: Club insurance

A bit off topic in that I was looking for personal liability cover not for a club.. Am just off the phone to Barclays and after time to check with their underwriters they confirm that the 3rd Party cover for personal negligence claims covers on the water activity. The cover is to some £2million. The...

Re: SCA Touring Survey

Hello Jim. Thanks for the response. Maybe some of us will raise the relevance of the "performance programme" at our next AGM. It's great to hear that folk are still doing stuff on their own. Of course competition really has nothing to do with Sea Touring. Perhaps that might be a reason for tourers t...

http://www.upworthy.com/game-of-thrones-might-be-fantasy-but-its-economic-impact-on-northern-ireland-is-very-very-real The film industry is proving itself a real boon in NI. That's good and clear – thank you all for taking the trouble. There's clearly one and a bit sides in play here. You've given some issues a good airing. Fresh Air and Sunlight to cast out demons,eg?? Be interesting to see if you draw fire from the other side. It's highly likely that the other UK cons...

Rainshine. Yes, that what it says all right. I just mailed asking them to check and refd this thread. You'd need a good job to afford that. My Man-Pension definitely wouldn't allow it.
Be interesting to see their reply. Will you share ?? Thanks. John.

Re: Beaches South of Ardtoe - proposal to suspend access rig

This is shocking. It seems calculated to raise the blood pressure to dangerously high levels. This will definitely help publicise the programme. Will there be a petition or some such we can sign ? Scotland is famous for land access - isn't it your birthright ? Needs defending. This proposal must hel...

Re: SCA Touring Survey

I did the survey as an outsider (CANI) - fee, £0. Why would sea paddlers need a Governing Body ? We can go anytime on our own or pick up the phone and 'call-a-friend'. Why are government agencies meddling in all this ?? Perhaps its time to cast them adrift.

There is a concise description of the mechanics of flows hereabouts in Terry Storry's 1986 Snowdonia Guide pps 132ff.
He mentions Laver's Cruising Guide to Anglesey and the Menai Sts. (1977) by Robert Kemp. Might just be worthwhile looking for this in the library.

Bit far back this one. Was that the comp. where a scaffold camera platform was put up across the rocks. Didn't at least some class winners celebrate by taking a leap off the Anvil ?? Was the film made for or shown on Scottish TV - might be an idea to ask Lion TV. They might know who has got a copy. ...
