Mirazime by McNett. Ignore instructions on bottle. 4 cap (the inner part only) in 2 gall. bucket let socks or boots soak overnight and allow to dry naturally. In severe cases of rotten cabbage smell - may need two treatments a few days apart. Miracle product. Also works on "pet accidents" Seems effe...

Its short and although featuring lots of historic cine film is a good modern edit, it's ready to roll.

If you don't mind stumping up UKHO has sailing directions for the area. Mobilegeographics has tide tables for selected points. Hope this works: http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/160.html If you want to try a source outwith the very good chart dealers in the uk, you could peek in at http:/...

It looks like a very positive connection may have been brought about by this thread. Happy paddling France ! Could I just say on behalf of those of us who fume at the mere thought of interference with our free passage, that the original post needs a very close reading to see that the kayak was insid...

Re: Disposal of Flares

Amongst other things I took the advice given on one of Simon Willis' videos and put a lot of Solas Tape on boats. Not pretty but it definitely catches the light. Passive protection. Paddle blades got some bright colour, the ferry crews say they can see them twinkling (in daylight) at great distance....

Jet. Great points. Misfire. Partial burn, could happen to an In-date item too. Damp or Dud. Classic shot firer's dilemma but you cant wait. In your kayak where will you put the offending item? We have to be careful what we say to that, eh? Incineration. Use enough heat; visualise armoured oven not a...

Sorry to cause upset Chris. Of course you are right. There's the law. However I posted in all seriousness, the methods work. Are used by or on behalf of the UK military no less. One should always consider legality when considering options.

Re: Disposal of Flares

My solution -- In an old 40gal.drum well buried in your next bonfire. Don't use a lid. Living in town ? weighted bag and very deep water. Not sure about MCA. We picked up a load of unfired pyro after a ship went down. Left them in a bucket (of water) at the harbour office. Next thing a notice went u...

Re: Beware the French lifeguards

Not sure about the ... "Have to ...". Nigel. Compulsory would sit very well with our continental friends. A whole lot of sea paddlers are out there to get away from control and regulation. Perhaps those who aren't comfortable with the possibility of rough consequences are in the wrong environment. J.

Re: Mawddach Estuary

This entrance has changed since I was a local. Railway viaduct - if you have a choice you may be better using the main channel (with its wider passage) under the swing bridge. Water can pile up around the wooden bridge trestles at the southern end and can get somewhat turbulent. If the race finish i...

Funny that - My Dancer is the same ! I find a good squirt of washing up liquid makes the job a lot easier - its easily flushed out once the job is done. Turning the seat takes serious force and it tends to get stuck part rotated -- on occasion a stern whack with a mallet gets it moving again. J

Governing Bodies, Mega Charities like RSPB, National Association of Wildlife Trusts, NGOs and the rest - all seem to have ambitions to extend their influence and control over us. Perhaps they have got way too big - It might be time to consider breaking them up.
