Re: WWSR Course

Typhoon are good and I've never heard anything negative about them. Look around for second hand bargains. Steer clear of cheaper ones like lomo

Re: WWSR Course

Drysuit all the way. Borrowed or bought doesn't matter but unless it's in summer you'll need it. Even then I'd wear a drysuit if I'm expecting to swim a lot

Re: Lomo drysuit

I can only second the above. Paddled with someone yesterday who'd had his 18 months and it leaked. He'd just got it back from lomo after repairs and it still leaked. Apparently the glue on the taped seems doesn't like sweat. I've a Typhoon which is brilliant and to make it better their repair servic...

Sea kayaking on a river? Sounds good but a bit far away from me

If you're sure it's a leak get onto Typhoon. They've got great customer service in my experience.

Check out your local clubs. If you've had a roll before likely just need a bit of pool time to refresh yourself.

Looks like the more basic club spec. Maybe worth £200

Re: What clothing do I need?

I'd suggest picking up a second hand multisport if possible. They're really good and the customer service is great. Probably pick one up second hand for the price of a new lomo one.

Re: Reviews on Typhoon Multisport Hinge/Reed Chillcheeter drysuit please

I've a Typhoon multisport 4. I've seen nothing negative about Typhoon. I've only had one issue with my suit in three years now, the feet leaked. Looked online and wasn't surprised to find out they aren't on the warranty. Contacted typhoon for advice and they said pop it in the post and we'll repair ...

I'd go for the venture personally. I think that's a cheap price. Look out for a dagger approach or blackwater. Sometimes pop up for £250ish

Re: My skeg sends me in circles, any expalanations

An approach 9 is a fairly short boat. I'd say it's likely to do with your paddling technique that's causing you to go in circles.

Best bet is to get some proper coaching either paid, people on here or a local club.

Without the repair £1000 but with the repair maybe £700?? Hard to say really, as always it's what people will pay and how long you're willing to wait for a sale

The victims BA probably wasn't capable of being used as a harness anyway. I think as it says in the article instinct takes over. You can't let someone drown if you can do something. The guy who jumped in clearly was kitted up and confident of those around him helping if he needed it. Sent from my ON...

Typhoon multisport 4 very good suit and event customer service. I'd say get the hinge version. Don't think rear entry would be an issue but if you can avoid it I would.

Hi Andy, I'm just down the road in Ulverston. As far as getting skilled and meeting people you can't go to wrong joining Duddon canoe club. There is a car park or two on the road to Roa island not far from where you would launch. I'd expect them to be pretty safe to be honest.

Big boa type screw gate will generally clip onto anything securely. Depends what it's for though. I see no need for locking if it's just for towing on flat water
