fins?

Looking for more recommendations for kit ... I've just trashed yet another set of fins - one of a set of CJBs thrusters split longitudinally yesterday, leaving me taking rights only for the rest of the session. I'm now looking for a 'robust' replacement. When I first got the boat, it had a nice set ...

Re: Surf kayak spray dec

I now have it (after some address confusion with the delivery guy) & have been trying it out. Happy to confirm that it does (just!) fit the mustang, with no modifications - although it is remarkably tight. It's also by far the driest deck I've had on a surfboat. Still bone-dry inside after numerous ...

Re: outfitting DIY

Remember to put the fluffy side on the boat and the hooks on the pads, so if it comes off you aren't bracing on the hooky stuff. Can I second this, & also point out that the hooks will stick very well to some wetsuits. The last thing you want if your padding is coming loose is to be velcro'd into y...

Re: Surf kayak spray dec

I've ordered it & it should turn up soon. Will let people know whether it fits the mustang, or whether some modification is needed.

Re: Surf kayak spray dec

Thanks for the offer, Gareth. Unfortunately, I'm over the other side of the country - can't find anywhere that sells the freeride locally, so was considering mail-order. Probably not a good idea if it's not going to fit. I've tried the K1 size Peak standard, but don't find it particularly dry. Defin...

Re: Surf kayak spray dec

Another deck question: I'm looking to replace my current deck (it's now more repair than deck ...) for a composite Mustang. I've just spoken to the guys at Bridgend & they don't recommend the freeride for mega composite boats any more - apparently the newer decks are slightly thicker & I just won't ...

500m? I frequently go further out than that on a surfboard. Are you sure it isn't 5km?

In either case, it's ironic that the thread title is "adventure wanted".

Re: DERWENT (Kexby to Wheldrake Ings)

Just spent a very pleasant afternoon doing this trip - also extended it up the Pocklington canal somewhat. There was one access question, at Elvington lock. I met the gentleman from the house on the island when passing through - his position is that there is no way to access the lock from the upstre...

Scarborough south sea defenses

I'd like to draw people's attention to what local surfers (board & paddle) consider a potential danger at one of Yorkshire's most popular waves http://www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/news/environment/rock-armour-will-put-lives-at-risk-says-surfer-1-5591059 Being a regular at this break, I agree with th...

Re: Surf Kayak Center MiniCell Foam Pillar

I removed it completely on my Mustang (Xtec construction), in order to fit a Jackson HappyFeet. No noticeable difference at all.

I wouldn't do the same on a glass I.C.!
