Lendal Kinetic Wings

I have a pair of Lendal Kinetic Wings for sale. Note, these are the blades, not the whole paddle. I've no idea what they are worth so make me an offer.

Re: Inflatable kayak - puncture repair in seam???

Sevylor boats have a removable inner tube type construction. The nylon outer is just to protect this inner tube. There should be a way of removing the inner tube as they are available as spares from sevylor.

Re: Fitting Bilge Pump to Delphin 155

I used some heavy duty sticky backed 50 mm wide Velcro. Screwfix sell it. As long as you clean the surface thoroughly first it seems to work well. It does mean that my whole set up is easily removed for maintenance or if I change boats.

Re: Fitting Bilge Pump to Delphin 155

I couldn't bear drilling a hole in the hull of my present boat (an Alaw) or my previous (a Scorpio) either. In the Scorpio I carved a 'Pilates' foam block (from TKMaxx) to fit behind the seat wedged into place against the bulkhead. The wires went through the bulkhead into the day hatch where the bat...

Re: Mawddach Estuary

As no one has replied to your post I will offer my, very limited, experience. I paddled down the estuary in a force 3/4 westerly and didn't have any problems around the bridge. We went under as close to the south shore as possible. We were able to paddle around the headland and onto Fairbourne beach...

Re: Loch morar restrictions

Thanks for the advice and feedback. Not being familiar with the area, having traveled up from the (English) Midlands, we used the guidebook as a starting point. I have contacted Franco at Pesda Press with some updated information about the parking situation which he may be able to include in a newer...

Loch morar restrictions

Four of us recently did the Morar round trip, via the portage over to Loch Nevis, Inverie, Mallaig and back to Morar. We used the Scottish Canoe Classics guide but, as we did the trip in sea kayaks, I have posted here. The recommended put-in at the pier has no parking so we went further along the Lo...

Re: putting a sea kayak on the roof by yourself

To solve the height problem I either use a set of short steps or a fold away decorators platform, which fits easily into the boot of the car. I don't use J bars, I use the foam cradles that are much easier to lift a boat onto and also conform better to the shape of the different boats that I end up ...

Re: VHF DSC??????^

It seems to me that there is an argument for carrying a standard vhf with a very good battery life for monitoring transmissions etc and a vhf with dsc, switched off, for emergency use.

Re: Tethering

I don't use the ice-axe holder as a tether, I use it as a paddle park. I tether my paddle with a length of cord, with a fastex buckle at the kayak end and an elastic bungee loop on the paddle shaft. The loop goes round the paddle shaft and over a large (3cm diameter) ball. If you pull the cord hard ...

Re: Tethering

I use one of these, from a Berghaus sack. It lives under the nearest deck bungee. I also use it to retain the cockpit cover when transporting the boat.

Re: Waterproof bag for binoculars

I use a pair of Steiner navigator, 7 X 30. Waterproof, built in compass which is surprisingly useful, robust and less than £300 if you shop around. They have a very wide depth of field so once focused to your eye don't need adjusting. I find the 7 times magnification is easier to keep on target in a...

Re: Head torches!

Coming at this question from a caver's point of view (which can be pretty damaging to head torches) I have used all of the suggested items at some point and I now use a Fenix HL55. Full metal body, takes re-chargeable batteries or disposables, three light levels adjusted with one switch, plus a boos...

Sliding down a wave with no control is not surfing.... and will get you a bad rep with surfers.
As a top notch International surfer my son would be very upset by that comment! He knows what he is doing.
