river ouse at linton lock near york- either above or below the lock. nice gentle paddling in nice surroundings and plenty of birdlife etc with easy put in and take out

join your local canoe club. You'll get all the coaching you need by qualified coaches and you'll get the chance to go on trips with a group as well as getting to meet loads of like minded folks. Here is the link for windsor and district canoe club. Happy paddling

all sorted now- turns out that whoever let all 4 tyres down also loosened the inner part of the valve with pliers so they couldnt be pumped up no-one had a valve key but they where eventualy fixed with a small pair of pliers and a pin. be on your guard if you park at the lower kent egress and it mig...

end of july is usually the start of french school holidays so expect places to be busy around then. in may there may be snow on high roads and passes but the rivers should be stonking with meltwater. if you fancy somewhere further south the ardeche region has some great paddling

Anyone about on the Ouse at or near york this saturday. thinking of having a paddle as Im in Harrogate for the weekend. Got room on roof rack for one spare boat and space in car for 1 person. Can pick up anywhere on route from Harrogate and drop off again

hi- I,ve got an ainsworth (I think that's the make) 1 piece plastic paddle I no longer use. it's about 2 meters long and 90 degree feather. got some old foam camping mats I keep for just such a purpose- I can post you half a karrimat if its any help. I usually gaffa tape or gorrila tape them in place

i also paddle a karnali. I find it a very predictable and forgiving boat. Very confidence inspiring and handles nicely so dont be afraid of getting stuck in

the lune from sedburgh to kirkby lonsdale is ok but prob only grade 2. depends what youre after, nothing running here in the south lakes at the mo but im getting out paddling just to keep my hand in tbh

what I've done in the past is ask one of the locals if there's anywhere- a pint or two opens all sorts of doors :) Be careful when camping in national parks as the rules/regs tend to be quite strict but most folks are very welcoming to foreign types

hi- I get over to harrogate quite often as my girlfriend lives there. shes just started paddling and we get on the ure a bit but havent taken her on the wharfe yet. if you fancy meeting up for a bimble sometime give me a shout. also get out in the dales and lakes quite a bit
