You learn to deal with things your own way. Everytime an individual case is mentioned someone may well remeber it. Who is to say how they will feel about it.

Talk amongst your peers not on the webb is probably the way forward.

I think we will have to dissagree on this one.

I have been a member of the emergency services for over 20years now, and have still not felt the need to brag about other peoples misfortunes.

Slight side track; I know there is a dedicated vounteer Swift Water Rescue Team in North Wales, would extending this elsewhere be a good idea? A good idea in principle but I think a difficult one to set up throughout the uk. You would need teams located in a huge amount of sites to be able to respo...

Let the emergency services have their 15 mins of fame in the media? Seems a good solution to me. Edit: And say a big thank you to them of course. I think you should take into account that when things do go wrong they have to drag the remains out. Not a very nice job and one that they will probably ...

I think it's despicable that the change affects previous posts, too. Those who've had your usernames changed should put the old name in your profile ... I like my username, thanks - but I'll admit that when I joined, I assumed that using your real name was frowned upon. What's to be embarassed abou...

Pretty much the same. I have met a few people now through UKRGB and enjoy paddling with them when we get a chance. Helped a crew from Oxford down the Dart for the first time and ran into some good people not knowing they were UKRGB and found out their site names. Not got a bad thing to say about any...

I had that about 2 years ago. Took 6 weeks and a physio to clear.

Been fine since though. You really have to rest the arms and just do the physio exorcises. If you do not take it seriously the problem can linger for months and in some cases never totaly clear up.

Cheers,
Ray.

To be honest I think it is to big a job for an unskilled and under kitted crew. The tree is right across the rapid, cutting it away from the bank will be a reall (dangerous) headache and dragging it in is a non starter without some major equipement. Then comes the question how do you get that type o...

Seriously you havent seen it, (have you?). Its way to big. About a 2ft thich trunk lots of thick branches and right out across the river. I reckon probably a couple of ton in weight. I think the rivers authority and the enviouroment agency will struggle to clear this one. I think the only way it can...
