Re: British Canoeing Sea Kayak Coach

Having only done my Level 1 coach award in April I now feel totally ripped off to the tune of £250. What a complete and utter waste of time and money that was. Nobody told me to wait a few months, then as a 4* leader I could become a level 2 sea kayak coach in just 5 days. Oh no they just took my mo...

Re: Short trips sea or estuary n't Puttsborough north Devon

Hele Bay to either Ilfracombe or Combe Martin (bit further if you want to) Car park next to the beach and north facing so no surf to worry about until you've got your sea legs.

Re: Sea Kayaking app

I tried to download it and got a message saying not compatible with my phone Xperia M5. I emailed the the guy and had a very quick reply saying he would look into it and a few days later another saying it should now work. I was then able to download it. I've not tried it out yet but will be on Sunday.

Re: Any Tahe Marine experts in here?

Hi Rob, I'm just down the road in Cheddar and happy to take you out. I would also suggest you join a local club there are quite a few around the area. I used to own a Tahe Reval. If it's 18ft 2 or 5.50 m and the skeg control is on the left it is anything from about 4 years old and upwards. I used to...

Re: P&H Scorpio HV - anyone tried it out?

I couldn't find the link either. I had it in a printed copy of the magazine, which I've since disposed of. If you contact Richard Parkin at OP they do digital back issues quite cheaply or try contacting Douglas either on here https://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&...

EPIC 18x SPORT or 16x WANTED

Bit of a long shot but does anyone have one of these they want to sell?

With the later Track Master rudder rather than the earlier integrated one please.

Thanks

Here it is

It's also worth reading the Ocean Paddler review by Douglas Wilcox. Always excellent reviews whether you like the boat being tested or not.

Re: Tent with a big porch?

Coleman Tatra 2 3.4kg or Tatra 3 3.75kg.

I used to have the 3 it's got a big porch, is freestanding, pitches outer first or as one. I could put my bike in the porch!

You can buy two for your budget

Have you tried posting on the Used Kayaks UK and Canoes and Kayaks for Sale Facebook pages?

I put up exactly the same request last week and within 10 minutes was offered a Liquid Logic Big Hoss and a Remix 69 (which I bought) so worth a pop.

Advice re Necky Jive 8.10

Hi I'm after a bit of advice re the above boat please. I'm a sea kayaker and have almost zero experience of river running but have had a few goes and enjoyed it. One of the boats I used was a Necky Jive 8.10 which seemed to fit me very well (5'10 85kg). I can get this boat for £50. It's from a frien...

Re: Valley Sirona

I have a Sirona RM, a Gemini SP RM and a Cetus MV. I tend to tell people think of the Sirona as a Gemini on speed. It's certainly quite a bit faster, and I feel it's just as maneuverable and as others have said it's very skeg dependent, but does track better with a load. It's become my everyday boat...

WANTED DAGGER STRATOS 14.5 S

As it says. The smaller of the two Stratos models.

I'm based in Cheddar, Somerset, so within a couple of hours travelling would be good. A bit more for a near perfect one. Saw one on Ebay but asking a bit too much for a used one of these.

Thanks

Re: Boats for "Easyish" Charity Challenges

Just back from a first paddle in a Stratos 14.5S so the smaller one. I paddled it alongside a Valley Sirona. Took my youngest son along who is a novice paddler and we swapped between the two boats. I'm 85kgs and he's about 65kgs I would say it's perfect for what I want it for. Turns even quicker tha...
