Re: Anyone used a Vertical Element touring paddle?

It's worth asking Celtic about the CF blade option which isn't listed on the website, it's like a carbon plastic and seems a bit stiffer than N12.

Re: Who CANT Eskimo roll

I think paddling solo is just a case of having common sense and a respect for the sea and how it can change, also to be realistic about our limits and not go near them when solo, I've seen paddlers who get obsessed with the Roll capsize and do absolutely nothing to stop themselves capsizing in the f...

Re: Delphin 155 surf and delphin 155

The Surf has a tougher single layer plastic as opposed to the triple layer and more whitewater type outfitting like connect seats and full plate footrests.

Re: Capella rm vs scorpio

The North shores are well worth considering, I think they are superb and overshadowed by the Tideraces and P&H boats that seem to be everywhere at the moment, the Atlantic is a great kayak in both plastic and glass and really good value, Mike Nelson of Northshore knows his stuff and the quality of h...

Re: Kendal - Veriswitchlok

Assume you mean Lendal not Kendal! they do mint cake, if so they do a system where you get 3 sets of holes at 2 cm intervals, ask for some outer 2cm spacers for when you are using the longer settings for better cosmetics, otherwise the inner tube is exposed, if you want to be able to change the feat...

I paid less £35 less for my full carbon kinetic four part than a two part carbon Werner shuna.
Ask for some discount if ordering direct from celtic.

Re: Celtic Paddles

Basically the old Lendal range with a different label, made up in North Wales by Nigel Dennis (SKUK) I think they are concentrating on the Kinetic series in 4 sizes with option of up to 4 part construction using padlock or lever lock joins, N12, fibreglass or carbon blade construction and probably C...

Re: 2014 Tiderace

As we can see from the last post the new colours are being made and delivered but still nothing on the website, I know some dealers who were forced by the uk importer to have large stocks are struggling to offload the 2103 kayaks even at discounted prices (if anyone wants a good deal look at Up and ...

Re: Paddle shaft advice please

I changed the order to a 4 part paddle lock in 206 208 210, I like to have a length option either side of the size I wanted. Not sure about the lever lock having seen one in the flesh, prefer the solid padlock system myself .

Re: Paddle shaft advice please

I've gone for a standard 3 piece kinetic in carbon, the flexishaft is not really something they seem to advise unless you want a bendy shaft.

Paddle shaft advice please

I see Celtic paddles do a flexishaft, I remember being told a good sea paddle would have a stiff blade on a flexible shaft, is this still the current thinking ? I will be buying this paddle for cruising and longer trips.

Re: P&H Cetus Owners/Users

Regarding the footrest it's worth considering using the front bulkhead as a footrest, they can move the bulkhead to the ideal location for you ( leave a bit of extra length for big shoes etc ),and you will probably gain a bit of space in the front compartment.

Re: 2014 Tiderace

Well the Tiderace boats at the AS show didn't want to get wet as they liked to be inside a crowded shop where it was impossible to see them never mind try them, I'm ordering a Northshore ocean 17 which was lovely.

Re: 2014 Tiderace

Since when have trade shows been written up for end users? Intersting stuff will no doubt appear in press round-ups (if you happen to buy any paddling magazines), but this isn't the motor industry, I'm not sure we are ready for new models every year released 3-6 months before the year actually star...

Re: 2014 Tiderace

I will be attending the AS show this weekend, Tiderace are there so hopefully will have the info there, of course all the other manufacturers will be there so could come away with an order for anything, now Valley give the option not to have the silly little deckpod their kayaks have more appeal.

Also look out for a small Dagger Alchemy, great sporty little boat, the Expression 14 is another good choice, very capable kayak and comfy too, order it with the lower back and option though. I have owned both of these kayaks, the S Alchemy was a tight fit for me but handled the best, also consider ...
