Re: What grade is sgwd y pannwr on the Mellte?

I've run both drops and the rest of the river. I love listening to different opinions. Thanks for responding. Given this, they're clearly grade yes. This could change to grade never again at any point... http://ieuanbelshaw.wordpress.com/2012/11/17/take-the-risk-accept-the-consequence/ Or Grade Yep...

Re: Important: Lower Tryweryn take out

Lowri's request is very reasonable. It has nothing to do with your rights to park there legally, because you legally, you can. Lowri and other local boaters are getting trouble because paddling folk are parking in residential areas and the people who live in the estate don't like being blocked or se...

You've just opened a can of worms.

Would a short description be more accurate than a grade?

Re: I want to do the Glen

Upper Upper Prysor Crawcwellt Would be great if you could elaborate on these :). Never seen either but I've wanted to have a wonder up and look for a year now. Eden over Cwm Llan any day but Eden is better at a medium high than a huge as there's actual features and not just one long wave train for ...

Thanks again. So if you had to name a top 10 list of rivers for me to explore in North Wales, what would they be? I have 4 I definitely want to do: Glen, Lledr, Ogwen and Aberglaslyn Gorge. (Ordered the new guidebook :-)) Ooo... started something here. Dee, Upper/Middle Conwy, Mawddach, Eden, Winio...

Re: Low water runs in North Wales - advice please!

Basically what Tom said with the two sections on the Llywgy, both great fun. The Ceirw gorge near Ty Nant on the A5 usually stays up, I think the lowest it goes is 0.6 on the druids gauge. Dee is mandatory low water fun ;).

Last time I saw Matt was on the Glaslyn, no plans were made to meet, it was purely coincidence that he was there. His group had finished for the day and it was getting dark yet he was still keen for one last run with a big grin on his face. Matt was the most amazing person. Always bursting with life...

Re: Snow melt advice please.

My Calculation for South Wales is that there is the equivalent of 30/40mm's sitting on the hills ready to turn to water. So 10mm will create a lot of water. All the side rivers are empty though, so depends on temperature in the morning. It started raining (actual rain not snow) earlier so the South...

Years and years. Was scared of capsize when I first started off, seaweed are sea monsters when your young ;-) This was at Mon Pad on Holyhead a fair few years ago. Re: Playboat Advise.

You'll have more volume in front of you and less behind you which will make it slightly harder for bow stalls but easier for stern stalls/squirts. It's not a bad trade off for being able to fit in your boat though ;) Someone else could explain the dynamics far better then I could. Having more volume...
