Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Perhaps we should quantify this ledge lapping, toe wetting level as IELS 0 from which all other measurements derive. I understand Phil has agreed to stand there ad infinitum so wetness detectors in his toes can be electronically linked to the gauge (biotechnology???)

Very useful photos and gauge levels Ashley. Great river, haven`t managed to catch it with water for several years unfortunately.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Would that precipitate the same debate as has materialized over cctv? Would the civil liberties lobby be worried about state surveillance on the slab and any possible illicit or embarrassing liaisons that may occur thereon?

"The lowest point of the slab should be the marker, ie. 5m downstream from the furtherest upstream edge of the slab."???????????

Oh dear. Oh dear, Oh dear. The queen wouldn`t be very pleased with the English on this one. My money`s on the Moxy version I`m afraid Simon.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Now I`m totally confused. True this state is not unusual with advancing years.
As said earlier top of green section seems to equate with water flowing round knobbly bit at upstream end of ledge. So where does mid green (or numerical value on EA ) equate in terms of ledgization (and which part?)

Re: River Girvan who upset the natives

As someone who doesn`t know the river or the protagonists personally, I have no axe to grind. However the motivation and comments of KSHARK look extremely dubious from wher I am standing. Neil puts it really well. As for Ryan, as usual, I haven`t got a clue what you`re on about, so, as usual, you ad...

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Ah indeed. I have been going for the Anorak of the Decade in gaugeological studies and have been trying to coordinate the EA levels @ Austins Bridge from which I have deduced that top of the green section equates with water spilling round the knobbly bit at @ the upstream edge of the ledge. This how...

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Thanks to all for updating. Dartcam seems to be down at present. Metcheck and BBC/Met Office seem to be saying slightly diff th...

Mu understanding agrees with Jen`s interpretation. If you are not operating on "specified waters" you do not need a licence.
I remember a verbal confirmationof this from AALA several years ago.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Kay y`all Looks like it`s gonna be a big week in Devon. I`m monitoring levels and trying to equate EA gage levels with actualities (e.g covering first part of ledge, completely covering ledge, going through third arch, first step and other such quaint visual markers. Would be helpful if you guys on ...

Would be obliged if someone could let us know ledge levels at the end of the afternoon as Dartcam doesn`t seem to be working. Also would be good to know extent of rain this afternoon and present rain state. Decisions need to be made.
Thanks
