Hey how weird is that!! I`m gonna start numbering all my weeks now!! That should ensure utter chaos in my kayaking calendar and result in endless opportunities for misunderstandings.

Re: Has anyone paddled in the Apennine Mountains near Bologna?

No info from me I`m afraid but would be very interested to know what there is in the Appenines. Am going out to Lucca in Toscana on non paddling trip but would be interested in river possibilities/contacts for the future.

Re: Canoeing magazines, are they worth it?

Yes. The internet and forums certainly have their place but I like to sit down with a coffee and physically read something on paper. I can flick through, I can refer back and I can read something that has been well considered when it has been written. There are still many people out there who can id...

Re: Name these fresh faced young chaps!

Interesting historical photo. Particularly like The Leaning Tower of Beera. Wales answer to Italian culture? As far as date is concerned I would (almost) put money on it being second half of the 80s. Definitely post 1986. My best geuss would be Christmas 1987, that would make Chris 22? I wasn`t with...

Re: Companies that rock

A final postscript to my vote for Easyjet. When four of us were stranded in Ljubljana overenight with five boats, caused by Europcar`s incompetence,Easyjet transferred our booking to the following day and ,when we explained the situation, allowed us to take 5 boats with four passengers.

Re: Easyjet rocks, Europcar sucks

Easyjet are cool with uncamouflaged kayaks BUT do stick to the weight restriction. i.e. 32Kg for TOTAL SPORTS EQUIPMENT and hold bag even if you pay both supplements. They don`t always weigh the boats but be prepared. I have found them very fair if yoy read and stick to the rules. If you are flying ...

Well would you believe it. However at about the same time I had an after a...

This sayr it all really On 19th July a party flew out to Slovenia with Easyjet. Superb, we kept tpo our weight allowance, no problem. Easyjet and Ryanair. That may surprire you in view of some of the negative publicity they get. However I have found them to be very fair if you stick to the rules. What you see is what you get.

Campsites on the Soca

Any recent experiences on campsites on the Soca Valley. We were thinking of Kamp Trnovo in July. One of our group has noticed a not very complimentary report from a dutch paddler in 2003. Any recent experiences? Other suggestions were Camp Toni near Bovec and Kamp Polovnik near Bovec. Any experience...
