Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Sorry Mission, I never said Kayakers damage Spawning beds in White Water. But you dont always stay in the white water do you? And one thing we did discuss, with E.A was exceptable water heights over Spawning Grounds, this is to be agreed closer to the time when maps are ready. Anyway like I said, ta...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi All, Just read through quickly, all latest posting, and as one River Keeper/ Angler have not got much hope of answering all the paddlers questions. To start with, I have too much work that I do around here to even think of the Dee, and any problems they do or do not have there, so although you cr...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi Wildswimmer Pete, I am up in North Wales, and again am not that familiar with the Dee, so am not the best person to answer your question. The waters we look after are non tidal, and a lot smaller/shallower and clearer than the dee. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of these waters will step i...

Sorry Simon,

I missed that answer, could you clarify if you will stand by any of your members, if they are taken to court for breaching SAFFA 1975? via the police/E.A.

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi Guys, Firstly RichA, from what I can gather, not all of the Spawning area maps will be available straight away, but Im pretty sure the ones for the Conwy and Llugwy will be available by September. Allthough not fully aware of the area you are asking about (as the patch I look after is a little bi...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi All, Im not trying to dodge any question, I never wrote the SAFFA 1975, and anyway no one has answered my question. 1. Will WCA,CW or BCU stand by any paddlers getting prosecuted by the E.A/Police for offences against the SAFFA 1975, as they have details of it on their web page. And Madswimmerpet...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Sorry sleepswiththefishees, Having a bit of a job keeping up with the Forum, hardly suprising! As for your question, Once a Paddler has been made aware of SAFFA 1975 and still continues to enter and go down a river with Spawning Beds/ Spawning fish then the "wilfull", can be proven as it states whic...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi Jim, Then you will have no worries about them going to court, because as I have been informed it is not quite as cut and dried as that, and in fact quite the opposite, it is not only costs but on their records if found guilty ( not good for Uni Boys, Studying What?) As for a precedence, can only ...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi Dogger Dave, Equal respect, yes I did have a job getting you arrested, but have been advised of correct prosedures ready for this Spawning Season to enable Police/EA to carry any further breaches against SAFFA through the courts. Wise words from Wonny J. After speaking with you on the River Banks...

Hi Weasel, I will have no problems getting you arrested, come spawning season or for breaking E.A legislation section 17, as long as you have been for warned of SAFFA just as Dogger Dave was,(by Myself) before he entered the waters. And although the Police were misinformed by the E.A last Spawning s...

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Sorry Peakfreak,

I cant control no one, but the law controls us all.

You can suggest Anglers negotate, with all other water users, but they already have access to the waters. So dont know how you will start that one off.

Re: SAFFA 1975 Act, the new reason why we cannot paddle rivers

Hi Shanclan, The E.A have listed all the know spwaning gounds on maps ( on certain rivers to start with), which will be available to yourselves in September Before this years Spawning Season, so read in to this as you will, but I very much doubt they are producing them for you to take an interest in...

Hi RichA, and all other Padllers, Sorry for using the wrong thread. Now I am on the right one, and replying to the statments made, the reasons there were access agreements and they were restricting in what they offered Paddlers was for the protection to Spawning beds/fish etc. As for Anglers wadding...

Hi RichA, Its me again, as we both mutually agreed to disagree on the last post, and Ive just happened to come across you, whilst stalking the forums and found you discussing water levels on the Conwy (a personal interest!). Hi RichA, Thanks for that, I did have a good days fishing yesterday, 3 fish caught and returned. Hi Quicky, If you read my posts, my interest is in access agreements with paddlers, if paddlers take this offer of a sensible debate as desperation on ny behalf, then of course I will respond to suit. Access for Anglers and Paddlers, Anglers already have legal access, that is why agreements can lega...

Hi RichA, Fight/war not much diffrence, as for desperate, I for one am not as I already have my rights and I can take it or leave it with access agreements, it wont effect me in the slightest, as for the distant future when this attempt in the change in the law actually gets to the decision makers, ...

Hi Parksey, Is that implying you are at war with the Anglers? Hi Ash, Just a quick question, how long are you expecting this change in the law for access to inland water ways to take? as from what I can gather it could take up to four years before it will even get to the MP`S and then could be stopped dead in its tracks. A long time for paddlers to be advised ...

Hi Glyn B, And what exactly is my argument Glyn? I have already told this forum, I am trying to discus the issues of access agreements. Until an up to date research is done on the effects of spawning beds is carried out by E.A, then nothing neither paddlers or Anglers can say will hold much credibil...
