Re: Cold hands
Before my pogies I had something interesting but strange looking from Lomo. It was called a dry glove. Was basically a rubber glove with a latex wrist seal that would mean your hands would stay totally dry. Also because it was relatively thin rubber, you got good grip on the shaft. Also for a really...

I find Palm Pogies work a treat. Used them today and they kept my hands warm. JMark Allen wrote:What gloves do people find good for cold water boating?

Re: Options for tommorow? (the 2nd)
Tawe abercraf section is a good gd 3/4 run. But you need at least some water (i.e. Melte would need to be flowing well) and watch for trees if you do paddle it. Doubt it will be a goer tomorrow. East lyn looks at a decent enough level for the gorge section. Not sure the DART will be worth driving t...

Re: Lomo renegade- yay or nay
Lomo charge £45 for a replacement neck seal. That seems pretty steep- Palm only charge £25 if I remmeber correctly. And I know you said no friend of a friend stuff but I know for definite that a mate of mine's zip ate itself and wouldn't close without leaving a massive holoe, he emailed them within...

Re: On the longer flatter trips.
In my opinion a creeker will be an absolute bore on a flatish water trip. At least with a playboat or a river/play boat you can have some fun along the way with tail squirts on little eddy lines :P

Re: Resourceful safety equipment......
I think that is a good idea that there should be a set of equipment that everyone in the group carrys on them/in their boat, and then there should be another set; drain bungs, first aid, clothes that should be distributed. Surely its a good idea, but it varies between rivers and the group your padd...

Re: Trimming down Palm Harness
I used the heated knife and found that worked fine. Mine had been cut by the previous owner who was bigger than me; meaning I have miles of the stuff, but I just tuck it away ;) The Palm BA's have about a foot if not more of extra harness webbing, and is important that it is cut down to the right s...

Resourceful safety equipment......
Hi again, All whitewater paddlers tend to carry all the usual safety gear such as; throwlines, knives, sligngs, krabs, sling tape etc, but how important is it that we carry things like duck tape (variable usability in wet) and wine corks (drain bungs)? I remember the time on the lower T that one of ...

Thanks for the feedback please keep it coming. Re: BISCUIT drain plug
I wouldnt tamper with a brand new LL Biscuit by drilling a flaming big hole in it. There must be a reason why the likes of LL, Jackson and most lately, Pyranha arent using drain bungs. Im not au fait with the pros/cons, but its just not something I would attempt on a high value boat, also, it would ...

I think its worth noting that the wanderer is way more comfy than both the WRSI and SR standard helmets, mine fits like a glove and everyone who has tried it on agrees. I think the EPP type lining is better than in the WRSI helmets because after taking a knock in a borrrowed WRSI helmet it felt ver...

Re: Rocker sizes
Hi there. I bought a M/L size legend one (08 spec i believe) which is 56cm and upwards. I have a 54/55 cm head so was unsure if it was going to be too loose. Infact, I found tightening up the backband made a huge difference and also inserting the provided pads, I now have a really snug fit with the ...
