Re: point 65 quality

I seriously considered one of these last year but was talked out of it by three seperate dealers/distributors. Two of them had Point65N boats on their racks, including one Whisky 16. When I looked at the boats closely I could see why I was being advised not to buy. These are not robust boats. They a...

Re: Rocky time in a Rockhopper in Christchurch

I've only used my Rockhopper which I bought 2nd hand earlier last year, paddling about the Cornish Creeks in November. Not what they were designed for I know but with trips no longer than 7 or 8 miles it didn't feel too bad despite it's squat shape and hence slow speed. I've stuffed the bulkhead wit...

Re: Rocky time in a Rockhopper in Christchurch

I agree with Douglas, extra buoyancy in front of the footplate is essential. Also the footplate is supposed to provide buoyancy but will almost certainly need sealing up with something sticky to keep the water out. The skeg is definitely not just for decoration - going in a straight line without it ...

Re: EXPEDITION QUESTIONARE

Hi. Try these for a start. I'm sure they are obvious questions but perhaps more learned and seasoned paddlers than me will be minded to post sensible questions for you! This is obviously an expedition in a very cold environment, and you guys will be burning a lot of calories paddling and also stayin...

Nordkapp LV bulkhead check

Here is a cautionary tale with a good outcome. I took delivery of a brand-new Valley NordkappLV just over two weeks ago at AS Watersports in Exeter following a happy and successful paddle in their demo boat. A quick check over the nice new shiny boat to ensure all was ok, flourish the credit card an...

Re: Point 65N Whisky 18 anyone got one?

I was really hoping to get feedback from people who owned on of these, or knew them well. Impressions of how well they are standing up to wear and tear/normal or rough water use. Especially as this is what Nigel Foster appeared to design them for - surf/rough water etc. I don't quite understand what...

Point 65N Whisky 18 anyone got one?

Hi

I'm thinking of getting one of these but can't find any reveiws or tests anywhere so if anyone has got one I'd welcome the feedback/opinions, especially if there have been any warranty issues/problems.
