Re: Repairing latex seal

Excellent. Thanks for that. I have a 'sacrificial' latex seal on another bit of kit so can cut a repair patch out of that.

Much appreciated.

Repairing latex seal

I managed to stick my thumb through the ankle seal on my dry trousers. Is there any way I can repair it without having to take off and replace the entire seal? Could I use inner tube glue or similar and stick another piece of latex overt he split? (It is a hole rather than a split to the edge of the...

Are these not based on RAL colours? (worth checking with Valley). If so just have a look at an RAL chart (in a paint shop or order a chart online) and that will give you the exact colours for you to make a comparison.

Re: British Canoeing Sea Kayak Coach

And.... what is the difference between a Leader, a Coach and an Instructor. The flow chart I was really after was to define the whole system rather than one just one path. I'm worried that I'm just being a bit thick but I don't want to be that kid at the back of the class that thinks he is the only ...

There is also an Island Qaarsut 5.0 for sale. It is a smaller kayak with hard chines and gets some very good reviews from people who have owned one. Probably has loads of character. The price may be a bit high so you could make them an offer... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sea-Kayak/202078991867?hash=...

Re: Baidarka Explorer - Worth keeping?

There seems little point in paddling round a weighted boat when you don't need to. The lighter the boat the easier it is to paddle. the quicker it responds to all the paddler's inputs and the less strain it is on the paddler. By all means keep the boat but when you get the chance try having a test p...

Another vote for VE paddles.. I had Werners for years but have found VE's to be much more to my liking and style of paddling. The air pocket in the core of the blade also helps find the water surface when rolling. Great service too.

Hi Rob, if you put in the boat details on Google and press for 'images' you can scan through and see if any of the boats looks familiar and then follow the photo link to get more details...there are some on there with the controller on the right hand side... or just click on this link... https://www...

I don't think this will be the ideal forum to get the best answers to your question. They have an informative page on cho...

Re: Do Carlisle make a carbon fibre paddle? Is it worth buying seconhand?

I wouldn't bother with an inflatable. By the time you have inflated the boat you could have taken a plastic boat off a roof rack and been off paddling. That is without the additional factors such as sea-worthiness, robustness and handling. I watched a couple of guys in inflatables last week attempti...

If it's the one on Gumtree (blue/cloud blades) then the blades definitely are not carbon and i don't think the shaft is either..

I have a spray deck with map loops so attach the clips to the forward most ones of those (other way around and it will flick up if a wave washes over the deck).

a fine response to someone who he thinks is scaring the fish...throw rocks at them.....I'm sure the fish were much happier with that!!!!

Can I just say, you don't necessarily want/need to get a fast touring boat or, at least, that shouldn't be a priority. Nigel speaks as someone who does the fast touring stuff but that isn't what lights everybody's candle about sea kayaking. Fine, if you want to kayak mostly for exercise or like the ...
