It's great to see Calum S getting grumpy!! Wish I knew him! :) Everyone does. I was indeed quite grumpy when I wrote that... Growing up in highland perthshire and being an obsessive kayaker has meant I have walked up a lot of the tiny wee burns in the areas around Crieff and Aberfeldy. Barvick burn, a small tributary of the Turret near Crieff is an awesome canyoning section, very very steep and interesting gorge. http://m...

I normally write replies holding people up and then delete them, but im not going to do that this time as I feel a few things need saying... The paddling is great but what's going on with the categories and 'judging'... is it like the Worlds that always seems to get judged by Team Jackson? Ben Marr ...

You mean to say you have broken one of the age old laws of kayaking, "Less than three there should never be"? :P Watch out or the river gods will smite you... "Risky" ? Any kayaking can be perceived as "risky" and that "risk" is an evaluation of lots of factors, who you are with/not with is one of t...

Re: Peli Cases For Expensive Cameras!

I would recommend getting a Watershed drybag instead, equally dry, maybe a little less protection but a lot more practical for stashing in the back of a boat. I definitely find it to be less faff than my pelicase for keeping a DSLR in, I just wrap mine in a towel which is good for drying your hands ...

keep your wits about you take the hits and tuck in quick, then think about setting up for a roll. Hmm I definitely like to roll before I take the hits. Re: Roll both sides?

Just to play the devil's advocate: Definitely overrated. I only have a shaky unreliable roll on my left and in practicality hardly ever (never?) have to use it. When sidesurfing upsidedown in holes it actually takes very little roll effort to right yourself as the water helps you up, effectively win...
