Admittedly this is the sort of thing i would sneer and cringe at if this was your average middle aged boater, but these guys are 15 and 16 and obviously keen as beans. Young boaters enthusiasm is a whole lot better to see than old paddlers cynicism and negativity, im sure that by the time these boys...

Help Jonny Hawkins (of BUKE fame)!!!

Jonny Hawkins (of BUKE fame) is a poor dissatisfied kayaker from somewhere in Englandshire whose life needs spicing up, those of you who know Jonny personally (lucky you! I heard he is sort of a big deal, he was on BUKE 2011!!!) will know he is often downhearted and generally unenthusiastic, its a ...

Re: Scotland: River Running Playboat wanted for beginner

Shuggy, when you say the Creek280 will run any grade. Is that any one hit wonder grade or will it run, say, the 7 dwarfs on the Falloch?...or is it only the Falls that it can run? Hahaha She is certainly more than capable of remaining stable on the 7 dwarves, but she needs a steady and strong guide...

Re: Scotland: River Running Playboat wanted for beginner

I have a big black Creek 280 in superb condition, hardly a scratch on her.
Great boat for beginners looking to get into a spot of playboating, superb popouts but also nice and stable on any grade of water.
Yours for a bargain buy of £250.

Meig - is there always a compensation flow? Yes, pretty dire though. Spean gorge - can this get to low? Yes, but probably a good bet, would take a while to get too low. Upper spean - does the dam only release after rain or is like the Twerynn that is released to control local river levels? Only rele...
