Re: FS: Nomad 8.5 £180

YES PLEASE !!!!! Will take it if its still for sale. Might be able to meet at Hurley at some point if you head down there? (I plan to be there next weekend) Did you weld it up? Or is it professional, it doesn't worry me either way as i am a competent welder and will re weld it after bits if needed. ...

Re: Modifications

If you find that with your kit in the back of your boat it is stern heavy then move the seat forward. I found it made my nomad more responsive and much nicer to boof and that was only 20mm putting it in a near bang on central. I keep endless clutter in the back of my boat and it doesn't seam to caus...

Re: Modifications

My personal view is that if me and my boat get separated and somehow the airbags go down i will have greater worrys than if my sandwiches are still in the boat :L. Think it will be a case of trial and error from here, you have a idea see if you can make it work. Keep use updated on how it goes inter...

Re: What to have in First Aid Kit

I carry 'over the counter' medicines in a pot marked 'personal use'. Friends I paddle with know I have it and if they want some, I let them have it. Is there a technical definition of 'administering' drugs? That's made my evening! (Well morning.) my every trip first aid kit has the following -plast...

Re: Modifications

Sounds to me like your making a lot of work for your self.... To get the rear foam pillar our of a Jackson you have to nearly strip the entire outfitting! (Unless they have changed it since i last did it). Feel free to correct me. The rear bulkhead is glued to the base bar, that is under the seat an...

Re: Opinions on Nikon DSLRs

1) No camera yet can compete with mother nature, especially when it comes to the conditions found in kayak photography. 2) Control the camera manually and fire off test shots to confirm exposure. A luxury not afforded film, but with digital is easy. Expose for your subject, balance back to give som...

Re: Modifications

Thanks Rich I think I know what you mean. My Hero's got a couple of loops through the cockpit lip behind the seat (inside not out!) and their ok but I dont clip anything too them except my line because their too high to then be able to keep stuff secure with the air bags. The aeat is about far enou...

Re: Uni offers/places

You could always go through clearing dude, uni boating is ace! Not sure going to uni to go boating is a good enough justification ha ha. Not to fussed if I'm honest, i paddling a lot with a uni already so plan to continue to do that much cheaper. Plus I'm debating maybe going back out to Nepal for ...

Re: Modifications

Wow pretty extensive stuff ion I'd be weary of the joins on the footplate, how strong are they? That seat looks very cool. Ye that plates fixed now I had a local blacksmith do it but he couldnt put any extra welds in it as it was contaminated (the alloy) or something and wouldn't 'flow' properly wh...

Well wanted to go to one of the following, (will let you guess why) :P . First choice: Bangor. Second choice: Cardiff. Third choice: Exceter. Forth choice: Anywhere that would take me and does product design. Sadly due to messing up AS grades its not possible as predicted grades of AEE were rubbish....

Anyone know were i can get gortex?

Hi all. I'm trying to find somewhere i can buy a role/sheet of Goretex for some home made paddle wear and equipment bags. Needs to be the waterproof variety and in 1.5 mm to give it a bit of abrasion resistance. Does anyone know were on earth i could get some? so far hunted the internet with no luck...
