Achieved the same injuries three times last year.1 x kayaking and 2 x MBing.I'm now very cautious when biking and will not take the risk of injuring my ribs again as it really does render you incapacitated.I was out of a boat for a good 8 weeks. Unfortunatley swimming pools are not designed for kayaking and there is a greater risk of damage to tiles.
It may not be the desired outcome you wanted but you can also see it from their point especially having spent so much ££££££s.

Paddlers as a whole don't work on their cardio as much as (imo)we should to keep you happy on a long hard days paddling. Swiming and running and working out can make paddling alot more of an enjoyable experience. I agree. As much as river running can be strenuous and exhausting I have often found i...

River runners

Paddled the Nantygwyryd down to falls and then had a slow run back to the car which was parked up at the Hotel in the layby. This took no more than 10 mins. Continued on to the Lledr putting in at Ponty Pant and egressing at Gethins Viaduct.....another little trot back up to the car taking 20 mins . ...

Gave me goose bumps and a memory I always cherish. To me... going solo is the ultimate paddle w...

Ok this is a great tool!
However....For someone like myself who has little knowledge of SW rivers, I could do with a little tuition regards what these levels mean and what these levels would do for other rivers in the area.ie Meltte,Irfon,Senny etc

Afan Forest Port Talbot?

Spent the day MTBing in the Afan Forest yesterday...Splendid it was too!

Passed over a river which I believe was the Afon Afan, but there were also many tribs which all looked super even with low flows.

Any experiences or info regards these rivers would be appreciated.

Irfon needs plenty of rain just to bring it up to a scrape.IMO it's certainly not a river for begginers.Grades 4+

Pont y Pant gets my vote.Starting at the bridge and continuing all the way down to the final grade 4 drop. This counts as one rapid as you can't switch of until you're sitting in the eddy at the bottom.
There's a couple on the Irfon that aint bad too!
