Afternoon Snow Melt

There is a lot of snow on the mountains at the moment. Forecast is for some nice sunny weather next week so expect some rivers with fast runoff to become paddleable by the afternoon. If you go to wheresthewater and click through to the sepa graph you can already see this happening on the tilt and bl...

My point remains. This regeneration could have been encouraged in many other areas in the Glen that are not used a lot. If neccesary taking seed to another area. This is just poor management or something more sinister. The NTS has a terrible record in the Coe hence the reason the old visitor centre ...

Did the NTS officer say why they chose to fence off and regenerate an area that is obviously very popular when there were so many other places they could have fenced off. For many years the NTS allowed a "no canoeing " sign at the access point to the lower etive which was on their land. They said at...

WHERESTHEWATER 1/2HRLY UPDATES

Some of the rivers are now updating as often as every 15mins? Its worth clicking through to the sepa graph to get the very latest info. The Lyon is certainly doing this regularly but its hard to work out if there is any system to it all. Tonight loads are showing the level at 4pm or 5.30pm and other...

www.wheresthewater.com twice daily update lots of snow melt

Due to changes in the sepa data collection and thanks to Kenny biggin for looking after www.wheresthewater.com you can now see twice daily updates on river levels in scotland. The temps went up to 15 degrees in some areas yesterday so the reasonable snow pack is melting fast so despite no rain the L...

scottish river levels wheresthewater now twice daily update

The site now updates twice daily.
Lots of snow melt with very warm temps.
The Gaur is probably generating and the Upper Upper Tummel is probably big as well as those shown on the site.

Transits always rust too soon both bodywork and chassis, I have been driving them for 30yrs. I now have a renault traffic and its a dream in comparison, way more economical, really good system for attaching the roof rack (so strong and simple). Much quieter and so less stressful to drive. funded by airlines who had agreed to carry kayaks

Excellent idea and asking for relatively small donations from those airlines who offered to fly kayaks or conversely people who would rent you kayaks when you got there. You could also do the "Trip Advisor" thing and include up to date reviews of services. Include rating the chance of getting sick e...

AWE RELEASE FOR THE NEXT WEEK

The main power station is out on the river Awe for the next week or so and so all the water will be going down the river. scottish afternoon snow melt river Tilt

Similar to last year after the snow in march there is a high pressure system. So though no rain, the heat of the sun during the day melts the snow and some river catchments rise considerably by the afternoon, of course clear skies and it freezes at night and the guage downloads are early in the morn...

NO COMPARISON CAN BE MADE WITH SCOTLAND

Sorry but the WCA makes a lot of money for charging to get on the treweryn and does not seem to allow other people to take their rafts on. ACCESS for all or only when it suits

AAAhh so this is what it comes down to talk about restricting access when I thought England and Wales were after more. You have to accept everyone has a right of access if you want it yourselves and by the way for the WCA and Mile End Mill that means with out paying for it.
