Re: Another coach lost to good causes

My husband and I (??? sound like the flipping Queen!), have also come to the conclusion drawn by Baldockbabe. We are not members of a club at present - (distance to 'local' clubs, practicalities etc etc), but would still like to volunteer to help out with coaching (if needed) where we can, probably ...

I am also interested in this thread as I'm looking for a new one too, I am looking for one suitable for women, have found my palm extreme river vest has been great but does tend to be a bit cumbersome for me really, even looks huge on my smallish frame!! I am also looking for one preferably with a h...

Superb idea - why didn't I think of saying that ;-) For me, slalom really, really helped my paddling 'click' when I was a relative newbie. 'Getting to the next gate' suddenly took precedence over 'doing a ferry glide'. Turning off the part of my brain that was bothered about how something was done ...

Nope, you're right there! you could've just said 'certainly not young lady - I believe you have a lovely trim figure but YOU implied you may feel a little on the heavy side, I was just attempting to assist you in your quest to shed a little unwanted weight'. Or the other approach could have been 'we...

Although not a kayak coach, I volunteer quite a significant chunk of time to coaching other activities. While doing so, I'm happy to pay for all my own gear, and even my courses, but paying the equivalent of pool fees to volunteer my time. No way We do run our own private pool session (so this may ...

empty it normal and buy a sponge problem solved. I'd agree. I have a project 45 (I'm a smallish woman) and though I find the absence of the bung occ a pain in the bum I have got used to just emptying as normal and using a sponge for what I can't drain. Not really worth bothering drilling holes in y...

We do the "Absolutely nothing !" option. We don't ask and don't care if members have coaching qualifications (or indeed, star tests or BCU membership) and we don't permit _formal_ coaching. It may sound radical, but it has proved very effective and is remarkably easy to administer :-) Your club tre...

Most dogs can swim. Most dogs can agreed. I've wasted so much time drinking and womanising over the last 20 years, I let my paddling slip (for 15years) and my wasteline grow.
