"If it looks good you're probably doing it right."

I was just reading the 'Licking The Stamps' thread, in particular the bits posted today about 'styling' stuff. Made me think about this quote from Steve Fisher in an old Kayak Session I was reading last night. I think he was just referring to videoing yourself and comparing it to the pro's, but is i...

Re: Look At The Level On The Upper Swale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's crazy high now, even if it doesn't rain again you should still have decent levels on lower sections all weekend. HFLF, could be back down to relatively low by Sunday, specially if it gets cold again and everything freezes.

Re: Look At The Level On The Upper Swale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hah a couple of lads from Durham went off to do the Swale this morning. Apparently they're still driving round trying to get to the river cos all the roads are flooded. Serves them right for not being stuck in work like me.

Re: Adding some colour

I've just had a flick back through my photos to pick some for this and it turns out that most of them are pretty rubbish. Specially compared to the ones above. Still you said photos you enjoy the most, so I thought I'd put some in for the memories. All taken over the last 5 or 10 years on a successi...

Re: Olaf Obsommer Visits the UK!

This was a really good night!

Definitely recommend going along to see one of the other shows if you can. Not quite as much gnarly paddling as I expected but loads of amazing shots of amazing looking places.

Cheers Tom!

Re: The Stout Of The Snout

Yes! I love this! Is that 2 pipes? Have looked at this lots of times and the bottom drop looks horrible any lower. No pipes the slides look bumpy but ok but the bottom is just rock. One pipe the slides clean up (a bit) but the bottom drop just lands on rock a bit faster. 2 pipes it looks like a prop...

Great video Callum! Jamie's little beating was good. Never seen such a fast set of underwater cartwheels. The main Foyers drop must definitely go at the right level. Anyone ever done it? Talking of local UK vids and Scotland, anyone seen Sneaky Freaky Creeky yet? There was a thread in the adverts se...

We went last year, flew to Cagliari, hired a car and drove up to Corsica. If I went again would probably drive out, but then most people who had driven were saying they wished they'd flown... Tips... -Go to the Kayak Session thing. It's good and there's lots of people around to paddle with. -Make su...

Re: Another North East Wezzit...

Just noticed this thread again looking for anything on Bollihope. Ran it this evening after work but didn't do the gorge. Up to that point it's pretty continuous, adventurous grade 2-3 (quite a bit of barbed wire, trees and fences). Gorge has a tree in the second drop and the bottom slot looked unpl...

Re: Cheap Burn For Sale

Sorry should have said, boat is in Durham at the moment, but could potentially get it to HPP/the Lakes if it rains/WWPF/anywhere I can go paddling, particularly for a contribution to petrol. Weld is about 12-15cm. There are already two layers of wire mesh inside the weld, inside and outside, now wel...

Cheap Burn For Sale

Old style medium Burn for sale. Small split under the seat welded with wire mesh half way through a month in Norway. Weld held for the rest of the trip and I've re-done it at home. Not going to lie it could split again at any point with one hard hit, but equally could last another few years of gentl...

What sort of campsite are you after? The one recommended in WW South Alps at the rafting base (can't remember the name of the place, I think something beginning with D?) We had 4 boats on a Panda with inflatable racks for 10 days in Corsica over Easter. Were hoping for one with rails but they gave us the only one in the carpark without.
