I think my club taught me the roll incorrectly so that I swim more often. I would need a second job if this rule was enforced, many thanks to one and all who have hauled my sorry ass out of a variety of rivers.

Thanks guys I thought I was odd (there will probably be a few people on here who could confirm that point of view). I shall try the suggestions and maybe try a US kayak forum as they must have addressed this problem with a bigger market???

Helmets for the larger head

I had trouble working out a "clean" title but anyways. I have tried the new superb Sweet Rocker XL and it is tight on my thick head. I e-mailed Sweet in Norway and asked if they could do one size larger than XL (or custom size) but they do not. I am loath to remove padding on a new helmet but want a...

Dartmoor Rivers are in spate

Maybe stating the obvious but have been doing a sponsored cycle ride today (Sunday 22nd) from Buckfastleigh via Moretonhampsted, Princetown and back, every river we crossed was out of its banks and raging through. I guess that they will remain up for awhile the amount that fell this morning.

Whilst I don't agree with whats gone on, there are not too many golfers on the upland areas where paddling is mostly done so maybe a storm in a teacup???

Tyn-yr-erw Bunkhouse is absolutely superb, great food and excellent value for money. Really laid back people who run it and a pleasure to stay there. Look no further as £13 per night is a steal.

Pretty difficult situation to provide the correct answer. I take my lad and it is me who gets the injuries as he is miles better than me. Whatever sport you do there will be a risk of serious injury and if you do no sport their is a risk of obesity. WW kayaking carries more risk than most sports by ...

I am not 100% sure but the Rod License only allows anglers to fish in a Region i.e Severn Trent Authority. The Angler then needs to get permission/ a permit from the Land Owner to actually fish a water.

I think you will find that it is possible to get some discount or something thrown in when buying most goods from stores. If you ask and talk to the sales person most companies will offer some discount. The only ones I've failed with is everyday clothes.

The words waterproof on cameras is used rather imaginatively by manufacturers when some are little more than splash proof. For a few hundred pounds (2 to 4) you are unlikely to get much of a guarantee on them keeping watertight. If buying from a store ask the salesperson direct questions like "what ...
