A superb day on the Upper Teign from the confluence of the North & South Teign. What a great technical kilometre of grade 3 at the beginning. A little gem that is rarely mentioned.

Very sad that it has to close but it's not going to stop me or anyone else paddlering the dart is it to be fair. I'm a student so cash is always a bit tight. So since they sarted chargeing to park at the park we have always got off at the bridge. Becasue Why should you have to pay for car parking w...

That may tie in with the Mountain Rescue van driving past 3 times near the Petrol station below the RDCP just off A38, at about 0915 this morning as we were meeting up to go to the Teign.

I'd like to say I'm surprised at this news but the writing has been on the wall. Thats my local river with great facilities almost put out of bounds so boys can be boys. I had a superb day on the Upper Teign and it may be where I paddle in future. I await the guilty paries to come on here and "justi...

My feeling is that a hundred politely indignant emails to his boss (or his bosses' boss...) could make them think twice about the wisdom and practicality of pursuing this.
Does anyone have the e-mail address to whom we can vent our spleen to.

I'm not sure whether to be flattered or not (you've mistaken me for a woman) but I'm going to tell myself that it's my paddling style that reminded you of Debs.
I bet Debs isn't going to put Mark at the top of her Christmas card list either!

I'd like to say I'd vouch for Duckers and Kitty but would you, they were pretty awesome today. It's a natural progression to try something harder and so the Loop it will be. I imagine Lovers will be ok as I have in my time swam down it from top to bottom on a number of occasions.

Being the prophet of doom, my son is currently in Austria working and they are having the worst start to a winter season for snow in 25 years. I presume this is reflected around the Alps and therefore will affect the Alpine paddling season. I hope not as I'm booked for a week in June with PYB.

I still prefer a more positive approach:

a. BCU to announce that all agreements are suspended and we will paddle wherever.

b. Try to get our opponents to get the BCU in a test case.

c. A mass trespass like Kinder but on a regional basis with mucho publiciity.

You claim to live in Devon, but I no longer believe you as you haven't paddled the upper. Sort this out, now. Duckboy does live in Devon and is a very capable paddler despite only using half a paddle (C1er). I think he wants some protection when he runs the Upper Dart for the first time. I expect h...

New Bridge was 6 inches (150mm) below the slab at 1100 today Friday 29th Dec and by 1400 it was at the bottom of the step and still rising. I would expect the levels to be good this weekend as it is still raining heavily in the West Country. Come on down and enjoy.
