4 way split paddle - unused

Ainsworth 4 way split paddle for sale. Never ever been used, still in packaging. Comes in its own tidy little bag. RRP £159 however I will take £100 because I'm nice like that. The paddle construction / blade shape is not high performance but it's light, splits 4 way so can fit in any boat and is ba...

Re: Your best kayaking putdowns

Its good to hear you are practising your banter. I am somewhat nervous about talking at the Dee Festival, as despite being a teacher, I am not very familiar with speaking to a group of people without being constantly interrupted, argued with or generally ignored. Every heckle you give me will only m...

Re: Which drysuit for lady kayakers?

I am borrowing one of the new palm ladies suits at the moment whilst I get my old dry suit seals replaced. I previously was wearing a mans' medium suit in order to fit my overly large hips and feet into it comfortably. THis made me look somewhat like a ghetto gangster. The ladies medium suit is a mu...

Re: Bringing Gear to New Zealand?

When my ex and I went to NZ in December we scrubbed the boats out with disinfectant ( toilet clearer actually), made sure there was no grit or sand on any kit and smiled sweetly. The bio hazard folk where more than happy with what we had done and complemented us on our work. Having all your kit in o...

Slalom? - where to start

Many a times I find myself in awe of fellow white water paddlers who clearly had slalom back grounds. I too want to paddle like a goddess and therefore am keen to get some experiance in a slalom boat. Any ideas where to start. I am based in Birmingham, I am guessing HPP would be the closest place or...

Sad News from the States

On August 7th Allen Satcher of Portland Oregon passed away in Upper Cherry Creek after getting caught in a whirlpool in Waterfall alley. I only had the pleasure of boating with Allen once , but was blown away but his charisma and paddling skills. He was one of few Americans out here (california) to ...

Re: Suggestions for somewhere to relocate to!

I am currently coming towards the end of a Summer Season in Northern California and I am totally sold on the idea of relocating here. Due to the difficultieis obtaining a visa I personally am unlikely to do this anytime soon. However if you didn't need a ' real' job then this could be the place for ...

I would say have a go practising realising the harness under tension and see how it works out. If it snags in anyway then reconsider your set up. Alternatively if it realises well and you don't see any additional snag hazards than get on with it!.

I went out there a couple of summers back. Thanks to Mark Hirst we had a good park and huck fest. I wasn't / am not a hard core paddler and still had lots of fun. I never paddled the Marsyandi before it was dammed but did a 2 day trip on it late November 2010 . Was definatley worth it. Awesome white water, stunning scenery, what more could you ask for? We were short of time so didn't paddle the lower section.

Re: footwear.

What boat are you paddling? Sounds like you have small feet so should be able to find something appropriate. I recently got a pair of 5'10 Savannah's. A lot less buly than the canyoneers but good fit and same super grippy sole. Before hand I was using some Saloman trail runners from TK Max, bargain ...
