Help me out, Adrian, does ChrisMac have some posting history I haven't been paying attention to? Everyone, please forgive me if I have got this wrong but I understood that ChrisMac was the name used by Chris McMurray, previous chairman of the UK Freestyle Committee. Matt, it had nothing to do with ...

They tried them in slalom boats first as that was the original plan. Lets just say they were far better in the duckies.

From my understanding it is live on Friday evening. They are doing a 'slalom' from the pyramid pool to just above the bottom hole in duckies / inflatable kayaks. They say its a slalom but apparently there are only 4 or 5 gates that are there more to help them get the line right than test their boat ...

Planning is also a key point. You need to have a good plan as to what you want to go and sort all the logistics out before you go so you maximise you water time once there. For example in Nepal I went on rafting trips as a kayaker because all you do is fly in, get taken to the river and paddle all t...

I have a copy but not watched it in a while. It is good. Less huckfest and more of a TV style programme than boating porn. There is definatley more of a why we do it and where we are than the usual huckfest

4 of us flew virgin to new york with boats. Booked them on in advance as oversized baggage containing surf kit but not a surfboard that would be within the 32kg weight limit. Showed up at Heathrow and got whisked straight to 1st class to check in as it was easier for them!!!! Still had to fly econom...

To me the biggest concern is what it would do to the rest of the river. It is a classic run and taking the dam out would have a huge affect on the river, maybe this would be a positive thing, may be not, but it would change. Given how well known, signed etc the weir is its not difficult to avoid and...

I also own a Mafia and so far have been very pleased with the way it paddles. It seems to make the rapids easier to paddle and seems to get better as the grade increases. I don’t want to elaborate or write more of a review as a combination of work and the drought that has characterised this winter m...

Buses were no problem. The driver from the airport just moved a load of suitcases round and bingo my boat fitted across the bus. The local bus was no problem either as they have a standing part at the back so just put the boat there. From memory route 8 goes from the main bus station where the coach...

I would recommend the hotel Etap in Caluire. Its cheap, close to the wave, we walked each day and they didnt mind us hanging kit out of the window to dry or putting our boats in the lift to take them upto our room for safe keeping. Lyon seems v boat friendly. We flew to Lyon with easyjet and caught ...

Just to make this even more bizzare what is supposed to be happening, if the money is found, is the BCU will move to a new building on the site to be built into the hill around mid course control and the fishing types will take up residency in the current BCU buildings!!!!! :-)

Speak to the BCU. Molly used to do this kind of work for them, but she has left, on small schemes up and down the country and they have people used to dealing with the local powers that be and have some understanding of how to play the system.

As Pete says there is only 1 answer to this and that is go to your doctor and ask him to send you to the ENT clinic at the hospital and have some swim plugs made. They cost about £25 but are custom made for your ears. They can even make them with a cord on and if you ask nicely they will make them s...

As has been said because trespass is a civil offence you cant be arrested. What could work out even better is if the Police did arrest you as you would then be entitled to compensation for wrongfull arrest / false imprisonment by the police :-)
