Re: Top Ten Tick List

Modern boats allow kayakers who can't ferry glide on grade 3 run grade 5; so I'd say Banzer's list is spot on.

1. Zambezi
2. Nevis (high-ish)
3. Nevis Bluff
4. Kinglas (high)
5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10. As recommended by Mr Manby (who am I to disagree) but never ever Uganda

Re: Most underrated or under regarded boats>

I still love reading that amazing super duper huge name forum boaters think the Dagger CFS is crap. Effectively saying that one of the best manufacturers who stuck with the one design for many years, watching hundreds of worldwide paddlers, hucking thousands of rapids well into Grade 5+...had gotten...

Dude, I cannot recommend anything to plug your hole. However I do hear that prior to filling the cavity it can help to first smooth it and remove any intrusive, foreign objects. Therefore I would STRONGLY recommend that you read the following link, specifically the user reviews!!!! They are a wealth...

At that level they should show you the rapids above!! Much harder than the fall, especially in a playboat! (is a Dagger Outlaw a playboat these days?)

Swim is a fail!

If it isn't where do we draw the line?? Here's the answer, Adam Potter, 1000ft fall, no boat, no water...but he's a kayaker so it counts!...unless a swim is a fail! ;)

Cheers Lee, I’ll let him know. He might want a bit more rocker than this classic beast but that’s a cracking deal. Shuggy, when you say the Creek280 will run any grade. Is that any one hit wonder grade or will it run, say, the 7 dwarfs on the Falloch?...or is it only the Falls that it can run? Hahah...

So if no rain, I have a list: Meig - is there always a compensation flow? Spean gorge - can this get to low? Upper spean - does the dam only release after rain or is like the Twerynn that is released to control local river levels? Leven - read on here it can be done on a compensation flow? Is this ...

Scotland: River Running Playboat wanted for beginner

As the title says, A newcomer to the sport is looking for a solid first boat for cheap cheap £250ish. Not looking for something that's been abused, nor looking looking for someone trying to get £250 for a Creek280 or an old RPM. Something he can enjoy down the Tay, Nith, Etive and Orchy. 80kgs+, 6ft...

Buy what you can afford without stretching yourself too much. More important is having cash to actually go paddling. Ultimately if you have a passion for it – and it sounds like Ryan hasn't put you off, so you must have – then whatever you wear will only make a marginal difference to the fun you ha...

I'm going on the advice of S-Dub. But until I sort out my design I just got this http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj49/RPaschke/MOnster.jpg I hear from the kids that it's chavvy!!?!?! But I don't really know what's chavvy and what isn't, I just like lime green because it reminds me of my old CFS.....
