Firstly let me say my post was not a dig a Brookbanks, I know they must have put a lot of time and money into staging the show(p) and the bit about the "Monopolies commissions..." what just a bit of jesting banter - I did not think anyone would take that bit seriously. Nor was the "lack of bargains"...

I don't think that a multi agency approach to teaching and assessment is an impossibility. I have recently got in to diving and there are many different agencies offering coaching and assessments to their own criteria. Which agency a person might choose is often down to the teaching methods they mi...

Monopolies commissions...what are you on! Jules Mainly Cheese & Beer The Canoe show with a difference Yes it was a shop Brookbank did take a risk but i expect the majority of the cost was met by the exhibitors. I respect Brookbanks for hosting the show, so much so I spend 5 hours driving to and fro...

Saved by the Talks! the two I went to where very good.

but the show shouldn't be run by a single retailer, I am sure the monopolies commission would have some thing to say about it!

I for one will not go again if it run solely by Brookbanks.

Looks like the new coaching system has finally killed off the club coaches then!

and

No new coaches wanting hours as no new level2/3 courses available and nobody want to do the old course now!

Could be a tough couple of years.

I agree DON'T STAY AT THE PLUME OF FEATHERS you will get ripped off, abused and the beer was not kept as well as the Prince of Wales Pub who were most helpful. The Fox Tor cafe is a great place and the staff friendly and helpful. "BTW did they cash your missing cheque ?." - No but it did cost £10 to...

Will the upper Dart be worth a drive from North Wales (4.5 hours) on Friday night to paddle on Saturday? Never done it before but wouldn't want to get a poor run in on low water and get a false impression of what sounds like a super river. Stupid question Steve, get your homework done and get down ...

Lost Paddle on the Dee

Hi, Last night one of our junior club members bizarrely lost his paddle above the bottom hole at JJs. The paddle must have got stuck under some rocks as it never reappeared. We searched the area but is was late and soon got dark. It was a Schlegal Workblade and it did have his name and phone number ...

There are a couple of trees down in the Conwy both easy to get round on the river right, the second one is after the first road bridge. Also at the level we paddled on Wednesday the normal left line running in before Bryn Bras Falls was blocked by over hanging tree branches.

Michael Maybe you could use this topic as a class exercise. Get your students to write a letter to the Welsh Assembly MPs, at least then you could be sure that it would be at a reading level that MOST of them would understand. I am very impressed you wrote a letter, I thought you just did colouring ...

Sorry Ed, I did miss your point.

I too hate the Tryweryn, its a nasty shallow ditch and I have suffered in the hands of the graveyard, but it is local and does offer more potential than the Dee.

Paddling with your offspring

A group of us were out paddling a grade 2/3 river on Sunday, I was paddling with my 13 year old son, who is quite capable of paddling at this grade. We were on a small rapid when my son hit a rock and capsized, he attempted to roll up but failed when he got out we found out why. He had taken a very ...

Sounds, very romantic. I hope it works out for you and Michelle!!! So what's next for you and the Dee, how about dropping load of red rose petals off chain bridge and then racing them down to town. Afterwards you can celebrate with a glass of sparkling wine in the local wine bar. Personally I'll sti...
