Firstly, Sport England will be pulling out of the entire site, which includes the Slalom Course, Regatta Lake, Waterski Lake and and all associated facilities. Rafting and some of the other commercial or coporate activities keep the centre afloat in the most part, but it is still propped up with fun...

Great call! Great value for me, even better for a co-ordinated approach to the access campaign. Moving to Wales just got even better!

Rafting the Isere

I'm out in France in mid August with some non-paddling friends and family who want to "do" rafting. I've found a few places that do triups on the Isere (we're staying near Bourg). Anyone got any experience of any of the outfits there? Anyone you can recommend or advise us to avoid?

You either pay a a high price for an all inclusive mileage, of a very low hire price, but then around 25p per km on top.

Yes, EVERYTHING in Norway is VERY expensive

The BBC seems to be covering this story quite extensively, withg this article recently appearing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/7461413.stm I must admit, I'm a little confused with this extract. It may of course be out of context of the coronors original report, but can anyone else translate:...

I've not witnessed it first hand but have seen plenty of footage and photos. It's not actually that steep in terms of mountain biking, particularly when it's been dry for a while and you've got plenty if traction. I guess it would just be a case of pointing downhill and hanging on? I'd also heard ru...
