Re: River Guides Wanted throughout 2009 / 2010

Tell your student union or AU that this isn't the case. They will be insured through Endsleigh more than likely and they do not require this, they simply require that activity is undertaken appropriately and in as safe a manner as is reasonably practicable. Qualifications are one of the best indicat...

Re: Minibus for European Roadtrip

Not to pour cold water on, but in re-registering your minibus (a catagory D1 vehicle) and in essence a "people carrier" (a catagory B vehicle) the conversion will need to meet Vosa's construction and use regulations. This will obviously need you to remove the seats, but I think you are required to s...

They are 108cm in length These bars are part of the Thule Rapid system and are the right length for s...

FS: Peak UK short sleeved Cagdeck

OK - I'm having a good clear out of the spare room pending a little arrival! This is a virtually new Peak UK cag-deck. It's perhaps 3 or 4 years old, but shortly after buying it, I sold my Riot kayak, so have nothing that it fits! It was probably only worn 2 or 3 times so it is top notch condition: ...

Re: Neck Rash

Hopefully you take this as constructive, but I know many a friend who use lashings of KY Jelly, the theory being that its a water based lubricant so won't do any harm to the seal and should protect the skin from unnecessary chaffage. Picture the seen as half a dozen paddlers wonder into Boots in New...

I know more paddlers that are engineers than any other profession! They're mostly civils and tend together themselves jobs working on road bridges over rivers in convenient places!

Oh and one of them has moved to Barbados, packed in the paddling, but, well, you would wouldn't you!

Yes, you can claim from the BCU insurance, I did it some years ago. I knocked a wing mirror off a friends Landrover Discovery in a clumsy moment and claimed back about £170 to fully cover the cost of repair. I phoned them to explain the situation and they sent me a form to fill out and hey presto. T...

I actually think it is the just the womens record. I seem to remember that they replied with Helen's current r...

BCU insurance

If you are, or the people packing the trailer are BCU members or it was part of an affiliated club activity, you should be able to claim through their liability insurance. About 15 years ago, I successfully claimed through this for repairing a wing mirror that I knocked of a friends Landrover when l...

We used a place called the backpackers car market who have a place in Auckland and Christchurch.
