Re: Unrealistic expectations of kit?

So I've heard back form Peak. Cag is repaired and it cost me £10 (including return postage). Now I'm just niggling, but I still feel quite hard done by. They were willing to give me £60 off a new cag, but still charged me a tenner for a drop of glue on my old one (that, they admit, might not even fi...

Re: Can "Ski Racks" carry boats?

Bring straps and your boat will always "fit" in the back (just tie the boot door closed on top of it).

For what it's worth though, I'd be very surprised if an i:3 didn't fit! Let us know how you get on.

Re: Can "Ski Racks" carry boats?

As far as I can recall (from previous topics) the consensus is that ski racks are often (always?) just ski holders with "suckers" on the bottom that suck onto the roof; hence hire car companies can attach them to any of their cars. Getting roof racks supplied is a real mission. Inflatable racks (e.g...

Re: Unrealistic expectations of kit?

All good options, many thanks! 50% off is a good offer, but I'm naturally reluctant to spend more on replacing the cag than it cost in the first place! A more cynical person might get it and flog it for a bit of profit! I'm also still a bit hesitant about the heavy-duty-ness of the material (althoug...

Re: Unrealistic expectations of kit?

If I'm honest, I think I probably agree. I just feel like I've got a bit of a raw deal and expected the kit to be a bit more hard wearing! Good idea about boat carrying, it hasn't crossed my mind (pretty obvious really!), but is probably the top differential. Apparently replacing the panel isn't an ...

Unrealistic expectations of kit?

I've had a Peak Combi cag for just under a year, where it has been fulfilling the duties of a shortie cag when needed. It has only been worn 5 times, 4 days in the alps last summer (that's what it was bought for...) and one trip to the new Cardiff course last weekend. Upon getting off the course las...

Palm Bullet Throwline on the Tryweryn

Optimistic at best, but my throwline went floating down the Tryweryn. Let me know if you bump into it! Cleverly, it doesn't have my name (or any details) on it...

Cheers!

Re: Boarding flight with paddling gear

I've turned up at an airport (Bristol) with 2 pieces of hand luggage for an Easyjet flight. Solved by nicking a bin liner from Subway and creating super hand luggage. Don't see why it wouldn't work for paddling kit!

Re: 2 Spraydecks for sale (Palm extrem + other)

Yep, R4 decks are a 2 man job to get onto a burn!

I just bought a Playboater workdeck, in bigdeck size, it seems like a pretty good job... But maybe I shouldn't offer a proper opinion until after I've used it this weekend!

Re: 2 Spraydecks for sale (Palm extrem + other)

Apparently it's an XL waist tube, which is for waists between 91 and 102 cm, according to the Internet. I'm a 34/36 inch waist though and it fits me fine! Maybe I'm fatter than I think... It's not the 'rand deck' so doesn't have the stiff rubber ring which clamps onto the underside of the cockpit ri...

Re: Wanted: Spraydeck

Here's my extreme deck: http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=63115 it's R4 sized, which will be great for the agent. Agent has a R4/R5 deck; whilst an R5 will be easier to get on and off, the R4 will be bomb proof. It's a M/L waist, which suits waist sizes between 76-91cm. I...

Pictures! The Palm is so new that water still beads on it! Only selling as I've sold my playboat, and it doesn't fit my burn (it's size R4)!

Canoe and Kayak Store - the shop at CIWW.

The manager Ronnie is a top bloke. Top advise, great gear and more discount than anyone else could offer (even though we just walked in!)!

Re: Dagger G-Force 6.3 For Sale

Doesn't come with spraydeck and paddle, although I have a spare spraydeck I could include for £20. Can't remember the make, but it's neoprene with a knee strap - still waterproof and fits the boat well. It's a Large waist (I assume!). Boat will be down in Cardiff this Saturday if anyone fancies a lo...
