Re: 'Paddling' and 'Rain'

Took my non-paddling girlfriend on the Warwickshire Avon from Saxon Mill down to Warwick Castle which we think is probably a first descent. River was nice and full. Don't know what whitewater is anymore....

Re: Canoeing magazines, are they worth it?

Although this is a Mountain biking magazine, I think it illustrates perfectly the fantastic blend of printed and online media. Its very nice to use, it has videos embedded here and there, its great for advertisers still and overall, very impressed... Have a play, click the page corners to turn the p...

Re: MTB Trail North Wales ??

Coed y Brenin has three trails , The Dragons back being the best. The Marin trail good if you like slogging up fire roads with little reward at the end. Dragons back is great, but such a shame after a mission of a climb, so much altitude is lost on a fire road. The Adams Family sections in the midd...

Re: I Spy With My Little Eye

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with misplaced enthusiasm. In Niks enthusiasm to get down the steep banks below Swallow Falls, he accidentally (he says) dropped his boat on my head causing me to tumble and slide and cut my hand right open. The sharp-eyed among you may notice I am also...

Re: Pins and needles in my foot

As Adrian says, it could be pressure on your hips causing it. I used to have the same problem in my Nomad, no amount of re-outfitting it seemed to do the trick. I eventually solved it by getting a Habitat. My theory was that (for me personally) the shape of the boat made my legs sit at an angle that...

Re: Nikon D5000.... anyone got one

Underexposure can be sorted by clicking in a bit of exposure compensation, thats what we do on hers anyway. Took some shots recently in heavy snow, a classic difficult scene, so just added a bit of exposure compensation and all was good. I'm starting to think underexposing is the lesser evil of both...

Re: Nikon D5000.... anyone got one

My girlfriend has one and gets on with it pretty well. It would appear to have a tendency to underexpose IMHO as the pics often seem a little dull on the viewfinder. She has taken some great pics with it though no doubt. The swivelling LCD screen is no doubt a bit of a gimmick but nevertheless quite...

Re: Camera help

Its not about the megapixels, its about the lense mainly. I have a Nikon D40 which only has around 6MP but produces fantastic shots with the 18-55mm kit lense. If you don't plan to blow up your pics above a4-ish then don't worry about it. Don't think you can get the D40 anymore but you would certain...
