Hi Becky,
I would definitely consider it. Tell me about your All-star.

Jackson 2 Fun for sale or swap for Fun

My Jackson 2 Fun is in good condition. I would like £450 for it or would consider swapping it for a Jackson Fun. I think it is the 2013 model. Where can I buy a inflatable kayak/duckie/hotdog?

I am looking for a two-man inflatable whitewater kayak suitable for paddling grade 3/4 water. I need something like the orcas used at the Tryweryn but my searching so far has only turned up inflatable kayaks suitable for flat water. I want to be able to take some less experienced paddlers on some mo...

Lost playboat on the A2

We lost a Jackson Star on the A2 last Saturday. Luckily noone was hurt. We were Dover bound and realised that the boats had gone when we got to Whitfield (Esso and McDonalds). It's green, black and white so it would be hard to spot in the undergrowth. The police were fabulous and helped us find the ...

Re: Tees - Abbey Rapids

We were paddling from Barnard Castle to Winston Bridge at the end of August two or three years ago and were challenged at Abbey Rapids by a guy who was setting up a slalom course. He told us that it wasn't open access and we shouldn't be on the river at that time of the year. There was plenty of wat...

Paddling in the Lakes in October

We are planning a paddling trip for the last weekend of October and were wondering about going to the Lakes. I seem to remember that there are several rivers that we were told we couldn't paddle on until November. Is this still the case? The Sunday of that weekend will be the first of November, but ...

Re: Women's drysuits: Literally, taking the p***

I love my Palm Element and wish I'd bought one sooner. It is so easy, especially with the Palm drop-seat onesie thermal suit. As a newbie you need the a good drysuit (you are much more likely to be in the water) and you need to be easy to spot. Get it and enjoy your paddling!

Paddling destinations for last week in May

We are starting to think about next year's club trip, which will be in the last week of May (half term), and we are wondering where to go. We are looking for grade 3 with some grade 4. Last year we went to Slovenia and had a great time on the Soca and the Koritnica. The year before we went to Bulgar...

Duckie hire

Does anyone know where I can hire a duckie to take to the Alps for 2/3 weeks? We are now taking a non-paddler with us and she will be able to join in with so much more if we could take her on the water with us in a duckie. We leave on Thursday morning!

Re: Rolling day with new wave coaching

I did a rolling day with Ross at HPP and it was brilliant. It made a real and lasting difference to my roll and I would definitely recommend it. You can watch all of it at HPP and before you ask, no I didn't get sick after spending so much time deliberately going upside-down there!

Re: Boat weight ranges, grrrrr...

I weigh less than you and I am shorter than you (60kg and 165cm) and I paddle a Mamba 8.0. I love it. I use Sweet Cheeks to raise my height in the boat. I've not paddled the new Mamba but I wouldn't worry about being below the recommended weight if you can make the boat fit you well and you have enj...

Carpal tunnel operation recovery time

I am having my carpal tunnel operation this week and I'm wondering just how long it will be before I am able to paddle again. Will it be healed in time for my holiday in the Alps in seven weeks, or do I have to get used to the idea of just being shuttle bunny? Has anyone any experience of paddling a...

Remix 59 for sale

My husband is selling his Remix 59 as he never uses it.

It is in very good condition as it has been rarely used.

Looking for £400.

We live in Kent and can easily get to Lee Valley.

All Star for sale

I am selling my All Star as it is too big for me. It has the normal wear and tear scratches. It does not come with happy feet. I am looking for around £400. I live in Kent and can easily travel to Lee Valley. Just ask if you want any more info. http://s283.photobucket.com/user/thearchnoodles/slidesh...

Re: Learning to brace

I didn't really understand bracing until I actually needed to use it on moving water. It felt very different to the water slapping I'd practised in the pool and much more effective. These days I brace far less frequently, preferring to put in a good paddle stroke as Lucy suggests. Simon Westgarth ha...

I have had trigger thumb in both my thumbs at different times. I have had steroid injections in both of them, which worked on one of them, but required a second injection in the other. I was also given exercises to do, which I did diligently, and my thumbs are both good at the moment. I have an unde...

Hi gp girl, I've been where you are so understand your frustration. My suggestion is also to do a rolling course with Ross Montandon. I've written on mine with a Sharpie pen. You have to hold it at the right angle to see it, but it stays on - even if the paddles are trapped underwater long enough to get holes worn in them!

Re: To Paddle or not?

I was part of the group that paddled on Saturday, and we had a great time! Living in Kent, as we do, means that we have to plan Dart trips in advance and can only hope that there is enough water to paddle when we arrive. For half the group, Saturday was their first time on the Upper; obviously it's ...
