Pool sessions and lifeguards
Hi, Our university club have been approached by the lifeguards of our uni pool (who have recently come under new management), and they have essentially told us that their life saving qualification does not cover rescuing people from boats, and have therefore asked us to supply our own lifeguards to ...

Re: Heroines of women's paddling
For me, one female boater that has to be mentioned in this thread, purely for her exceptional enthusiasm for the sport is Cat Ross. She was an outstanding captain for Brum Uni Kayak Club (2005-06), putting a lot of time, money and dedication to the club, whilst having to deal with possibly one of th...

One for the ladies: Just bought the Palm Ladies Naiya cag from here: http://www.wetsuitoutlet.co.uk/ for a lot cheaper than I found anywhere else. Plus free delivery (if you wanted it within the next 3 days). Mine arrived the very next day! Also, they were very nice to talk to on the phone. One happ...

Clubs that I like: Liverpool (student for 3 years) Birmingham (very friendly club, very social) Warick (ditto above) Cheers Lloyd. Also have to agree with Lloyd's choice. Liverpool are a great bunch - were happy to put us up for the night when we played the Liverpool polo tournaments. And as for Wa...

It runs whenever there's been a lot of rain - so mainly autumn, spring at a guess. One of the guys I boated with last Sunday had been on Hawaii the day before, so presumably when that's up, La Malate should also be on a good level. Unfortunately I've no car (I'm but a mere student out here), but I'v...

I stand corrected! Rupert it appears you did encounter Mr Williams on a bad day, and my hat goes off to you for being the 'bigger man' by not reacting to his aggressive actions. Anyhow, I desperately hope all this gets sorted and turns out for the better for the paddling community as it's a lovely r...
