P&H Virgo lost on Loch Shiel

Hi everyone, I carelessly left my turquoise P&H Virgo on the shore of Loch Shiel and too close to the water a few weeks ago. After a week of heavy rain and storms I returned to the spot to go for a paddle to discover that my kayak had been washed away by the rising water. My boat had been left on th...

Re: Wanted P&H Virgo

Thanks mark for posting that. It certainly is a great service to me; I live up here in the Highlands and I'm looking to buy my first kayak, so the opportunity to take the one I'm most interested in and perhaps some others too out into the water is really awesome. I'm totally happy to pay £35 to be a...

Re: Wanted P&H Virgo

Thanks Simon- I just spoke with Mark from Sea Kayaks Oban today and I'm going to go and demo one soon. He seems a very friendly guy and was willing to come out on a Sunday for me to be able to do that, so impressed with the service so far. If there is anyone out there with a used one for sale I'd be...

Wanted P&H Virgo

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a P&H Virgo. I live in the Western Highlands, I'd be willing to travel to collect if shipping it is not possible - living up here with family in Wales, I'm used to long journeys!

Thanks for any replies :)

Re: Advice and kayak wanted: for use with greenland paddle

I've had a look at the P&H Virgo and it looks like a good fit. I notice that the cockpit size is 81 x 42cm. Since I'm pretty slim with a 32" waist that feels appealing - I get the sense I will want to feel as connected as possible to my kayak, like I'm wearing it. Lots of the other cockpits are more...

Hi Layne

You seem to have had lots of info re paddles and I'd go for making your own. I can send you a couple of pdf;s if you wish. Yes make the edges nearly as sharp as a paper knife (experienced makers correct me if I'm wrong)
Ye please, thanks ChrisJK

Re: Advice and kayak wanted: for use with greenland paddle

Thanks Mac50L for all the information and advice., really appreciated. I like the look of your instructions for making my own, I reckon I'll have a go at that. Could I start by using simply a piece of 4 by 2 for a first attempt? I've been in touch with the maker of the Windslicer paddles and he tell...

Advice and kayak wanted: for use with greenland paddle

Hi everyone, I've just joined the group. I live on the shore of a loch in the Western Highlands and have been paddling about for a couple of years on some different kayaks; a short hopeless at tracking sit-on-top, a two man open canoe and a perceotion carolina 12. I'm now feeling drawn to learn inui...
