Re: Recommendations for VHF radio and PLB
Is dsc essential for general coastal kayaking Sea kayakers seem to be split 50 50 on this one. For me, it has the same drawback as a regular VHF in that someone needs to be able to hear it, as well as using more battery and being more expensive. A lot of the places where I like to paddle are remote...

Re: Drysuit Neck seal's?????
I have a 'superstretch' lycra-type material on my Peak Adventure suit. It's rubbish. It quickly leaks in water unless it's tightened like mad, at which point you may as well have a latex seal. I really don't see the point.

Plastic Capella replacement
I currently paddle a round-hatched plastic Capella 160. It's lovely, but it doesn't really have all the space, or the speed, I'd want to do longer overnight trips. I'm looking for a replacement, probably a composite boat, but there a few things I'm not so sure about. I had the chance to paddle an ex...

Re: Recommendations for VHF radio and PLB
I got a rescueme plb last year on offer from youboatmarine.com. It was £168 and will last 7 years. Shop around a bit, see what you can find. For its price and size, a plb is maybe the most valuable piece of safety kit I paddle with.

Re: sea sickness issues
Having a horizon to look at, especially land, helps. I find I get most disorientated on very calm days where the water's very featureless.

Free tide tables
I apologise if this is common knowledge but I haven't seen it listed anywhere before. It's really useful if like me you bought a 2019 almanac.

Re: Drysuit breathability
I find my Lomo fleece suit does a really nice job of wicking the sweat away from my thermals, even when I paddle for hours.

Yorkshire coast
Looking for someone to paddle with on the sea anywhere between Teesside and Bridlington. I'm roughly at a 2/3* level. I have a sea kayak award but who knows what that means.

Nice one. Good to hear they were decent with you. I am thinking about getting an inexpensive tablet and sticking it a couple of dry cases onto my spraydeck.
