I am putting this post out on behalf of Lulworth estates in Dorset. They are always on the look out for litter picking volunteers on land and coastal. Sadly due to the influx of people to the area, they have had to clean up other peoples mess. 30 bags of rubbish from beach and 7 from the carpark on...

Hi Canoester

If you go to the search box above, and put in some key words, there is lots of advise on starting out. kayak size, weight, leg room and recommendations on best buys. ( go second hand) But don't forget safety and training. Lots of advise on youtube as well.

On goggle maps it looks like you can park on the road with a public slip nearby. Is that correct?
Or is the slip under the bridge?

Can anybody give me a good put in point on the river Itchen Southampton. I have looked on the maps of Woodmill lane, by the activity centre. Is there free all day parking there? can anyone advise on other put in places for a trip down towards Ocean village. Any good areas to explore or toilets etc. ...

the one on my car stops the boot opening fully if I have a boat on. I know a few people who just put a blanket on the spoiler and slide the boat, but that would worry me. That's Me as well. This is my lockdown Greenland paddle Tester . When I get round to testing it on the water I will then play around with the finish.
Just has a few coats of Linseed oil at moment. Found some Tulip wood
