I'm not 100% sure what Mark is refering too. However his flak jacket comment did ring a bell. if I can remember correctly you will get shot at by a grumpy landlord. There used to be two riverwide strainers just before the river comes into Morecombe bay. If you look at Andeeb's pic,you can see the weakness in the weir,more so in the second picture with the dark downward V,lookk at the second picture then look at the first and you will pick it up,steps are runable at most levels but have been known to damage boats(rarely)with no stopper at the bottom...
