Re: Sea kayaking Welsh (or not) Buddy who wants to paddle the Antrim Coast Ireland

Yep, that was my plan but Brexit and Covid testing have scuppered that possibility - so, that's why coming from UK into Belfast / Larne would be less problematic.

Re: Sea kayaking Welsh (or not) Buddy who wants to paddle the Antrim Coast Ireland

Thanks Sean Soup, Actually I need the boats from Wales into the north of Ireland. I think all the boat shops are struggling with delivering at the moment between Brexit and Covid Testing. ATM - I could get the boats up into Scotland - so, if anyone was coming over through Larne/Cairnryan and would/c...

Re: Transporting Sea Kayaks (Wales to the north of Ireland)

Thanks Ceegee, Yes Wales - Ireland might normally be the best route - but with Brexit and Covid testing it very complicated. ATM - the boat could be brought up to Scotland, so, if any one was crossing into Larne or Belfast that would work. Never realised it would be such a hassle. Anyway, hopefully ...

Re: Transporting Sea Kayaks (Wales to the north of Ireland)

Hello Bazza, The kayaks are in the bottom of Wales - not near the Holyhead port. But the ferry trip is long and it is peak season. We can't treat it as a 'holiday' as it is just the wrong time in many ways. The ferry price is a lot to add to the cost of the kayaks. I am hopeful therre is a solution....

Sea kayaking Welsh (or not) Buddy who wants to paddle the Antrim Coast Ireland

Hello fellow paddlers – I am unsure if this is the place to post this question/enquiry? I HAVE ALREADY POSTED IT ON THE SEA KAYAKING PAGE. Anyway…. here goes! Firstly, I have 2 sea kayaks to come from Wales into Ireland (North). I think the best option is through Scotland into the north of Ireland (...

Re: I want to paddle in the sea - around the coast

Thanks, Mike B and Rainshine - I investigated the iska site and it's an option - but probably for next year at this stage. I think I need to get a boat (and competence/stamina etc) before I would/could join with them on a trip. So that will be my aim. Although, if I have the right boat I could paddl...

Re: I want to paddle in the sea - around the coast

Hey, so much good advice, Great advice from Pathbrea – something to think about re: other paddlers??? Time is short and other people tend to be busy trying to dip their own paddle and for me at least at present a local sea kayaking club would not be the answer (but Pathbrea you’re right!). And all t...

Re: I want to paddle in the sea - around the coast

Hey guys, Thanks for replies, Irish Sea, Yeah, I have come to realise that personal recommendation is tricky. I spent quite a bit time over that last day or two looking a boat spec and recommendations. While I feel that type of research is still important, ultimately, as TheEcho indicates I’ve reali...

I want to paddle in the sea - around the coast

Hello Sea paddlers/Experts, I am a female intermediate river paddler, I have been paddle since 1980s, I guess most of my grade III paddling days are over – unfortunately, age and other commitments has reduced not only my skills but also my strength and grit.. But I still paddle as much as I can on f...
