Dagger axiom thigh braces

Hi, I was wondering if anyone with or who has paddled an Axiom could help me with the thigh braces? I have the 8.5 with the fairly basic outfitting (contour I think it is called). I have moved the thigh braces back towards the seat so they are actually on my thighs rather than knees but in the new p...

Carrying 2 kayaks on shoulders

Hi, Is there an easier way or some form of carrying device that would allow the carrying of 2 boats at the same time on your shoulders? We live about 600m from the water, down and across several roads, track and finally a steep grassy hill before the beach. When I take my boy (8) out, as he is not s...

Re: Outfitting dilemma

Last night I removed the pillar and bulkhead footplate. Without the pillar and replacing the footplate I marked on the boat where she would need her feet. You are right in that it is not much beyond the bolt fittings that hold the rails! Transferring the measurements onto the foam, I probably have 1...

Re: Outfitting dilemma

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure I would have much of the bottom of the central pillar left (maybe only 5cm). Would that not significantly compromise the structural properties if it is only supported by a small point?

Outfitting dilemma

I was hoping I could get some advice on what others thought the best course of action to be. I recently bought another boat to play on the rivers and surf with my wee boy. He has a Dagger dynamo and all my boats are sea kayaks and not really suitable to bouncing off the rocks on the local rives. Con...

Re: New kayak advice

Thank you all for your input and suggestions. Before heading out on to the water I do intend to undertake some training. Have looked into a local club although they are not taking new member until the new year and consequently couldn't help with training. I have found an activity centre not to far a...

Re: New kayak advice

Many thanks for the reply and the welcome! Had not considered an open canoe. I had assumed they could be more awkward particularly when using it solo which I envisage would be the majority of the time at present whilst the kids are still young. They certainly have the storage space for packing in ge...

New kayak advice

Hello everyone! New to the forum and hoping to get into kayaking but was hoping to be able to glean a little advice from those more experienced. In essence I was hoping to get advice on which kayak would best suit my needs. I was hoping to go into a local store to look around and get advice that way...
