Re: Paddling OCD's!
Always, always wash my hand in the water and wipe it on my deck after touching my face - even the tiniest bit. If I don't...who knows what will happen...

I have an apex, and although whilst I'm wearing it i feel perfectly comfortable, if I ever take a roll (so most of the time) i get a bit wet and after a few rolls I invariably end up soaked by the end of the river. I only ever use it when its warm though, so being a little moist isn't generally a pr...

Before they shut it did anyone notice if any University clubs were listed? Ours wasn't (Portsmouth Uni), I'd have considered giving it a shot (when someone said you could make 30 quid per voucher, screw the people and planet society, or whatever they're called, they tried to ban coke from the union...

I have some Motorola T6220s, which are'nt especially cheap but they have all the toys like vox (not very useful) and subcodes (very useful). They also have a feature that allows them to only communicate with other T6220 units if you so desire, meaning I've never had interference from anyone else. Th...

In my humble opinion, the best thing to do is just try to be mindful about where you get in, get out, portage etc. Try not to trample things like plants or cause the bank to crumble excessively when getting on. You can have a bigger impact acting responsibly all the time than a one off gesture of cl...

I just got a phone call from my parents asking why I had complained to BA, apparently they have sent me a cut and paste letter of apology, and a travel voucher for £75. Has anyone else received a voucher? The letter sounded like a bit of a cut and paste job, I'll put a transcript up when mum sends i...

As mentioned above, our only weapon against this is numbers, so how about all the students out there (and I know there are plenty, I was at plasy at the weekend) send a second email from their uni email accounts and their home addresses. Same goes for anyone else that can make up a second address! I...

I love my aquavest, although i havent gone as far as buying the throwline that fits in the chest pocket yet. Has anyone got one? Are they worth the 40 quid i saw one for!

The paddling worlds biggest typo?
Found at 22:37 friday the 8th! EPP foam with a Coolmax liner and a polycarbonate occiptial frame Not features i normally look for in a boat, but a unique selling point i guess! How long do you think this has been here for, and how long will it take Des Mes to change it once they read this! I have e...

Count my vote for DamX, they wil send you a measurement sheet, which you fill out and post back to them. They are so popular in our club that they seem to be becoming some kind of uniform. There must be a dozen people of different shapes and sizes with a variety of bits of kit from full on drysuits ...

One of my friends dropped his daysack halfway down a scree slope in wales (cant remember where it was) On recovering it his otter box was trashed but his dv camera was fine... I also have one for my PDA phone which seems to be pretty sound, but i haven't needed to test it yet. Not sure if this is a ...

Our club has one for sale, its in reasonable condition, the usual scrapes but nothing deep, one small repair where it used to leak a bit on the nose, but thats been fixed now. Its red, which makes it go faster! We are looking for 250, but we are open to offers! We also have an RPM and a Microbat for...

When we got bored in my shop (so week days) we'd sometimes demonstrate how nasty DEET was to customers by spraying a bit of the 100 strength stuff on a plastic carrier bag and rubbing it together. It only takes about 30 seconds to make a nice big hole in it, just imagine what that's doing to your ni...

Surely the battery life depends on how much you use it? maybe its 5 years on the shelf... From what i can see it just seems to zap the bugs with something akin to a big dose of ultraviolet light, which presumably means it wont filter out the lumpy bits! then the question comes, does it kill the bugs...

The katadyn filters are awesome, similar in performance to the MSR miniworks or water works, but built a lot more solidly, they use aircraft grade aluminum and pretty bomber rock solid build quality etc. Having said that you'll pay probably an extra 75ish quid for a katadyn filter with (essentially)...
