How much do we spend on boats paddles and other equipment? Either pay up or go elsewhere is my take on this.

Just check manufacturers max weight for roof. My Mazda 2 isn't a huge car 1.25 engine and fine with a 14.5 foot kayak.

Hit the river today and on unloading found one roof bar bolt had worked very loose. Luckily spotted it . How often do you check ?

Sevylor Colorado would suit. Tough outer and 3 chambers. Spares readily available. ( some models rely on a single chamber with obvious problems if puncture) carry a repair kit and aquaseal. Your ka may have bolt holes. Apparently Ford filled with silicone prior to painting. Have to locate holes.

I used perception ones from White water the canoe centre £ 35.00 adjustable and fitted a feel free nomad. Certainly helped control

Whitewater shepperton. Extremely helpful always give a discount. Advised me well as a newbie on paddle and clothing. Got spares posted free on my stratos and I bought it elsewhere second hand. Good old fashioned customer service.

Check out song of the paddle. It's canoe based but has good advice and links.or grab a copy of paddle the Thames. Lock keeper gave me a map of distances and approximate paddling times between locks.

Another vote for typhoon. I picked up a drysuit second hand for 300 in very good nick. I find I can regulate temp with good wicking base layers. Certainly breathes better than my previous Palm cag.No drysuit will keep you warm on it's own layering under it is what matters. I wear various technical i...
